  1. Best of Luck to you Shelley and you're in my prayers! We WILL succeed-all of us slow-losers! Judy:)
  2. What a terrific idea!Sometimes we think we are failures among all the people losing tons of weight fast.I think i qualify----banded 4/17/2006.1st fill was may 31st--it seems I am very sensitive to fills and my Doctor is fairl aggressive.I have a 10cc. band and 1st fill was 5.2 cc followed by an "unfill" due todaily vomiting so was down to 3.2cc. Got another fill July 5th to about 5.5cc and then 2 "unfills'again due to vomiting. You would think with all this vomiting I would be losing like crazy butNO!!!!!!!!Started at 220 pounds and am down to 192--28 pounds in over 3 months!I feel better but want that scale to move!!!I think this is a great idea and it gives me encouragement!::clap2:
  3. Thanks to everyone for your support. I have had 2 "unfills"-one yesterday and one today and am doing just liquids and hoping for the best!!Thanks again for all the feedback! Judy
  4. :help: Hello everyone;I would appreciate some input from experienced Lap-Banders as I am getting really discouraged. I was banded 4/17/06-had my 1st fill on May 31st. I think it was too aggressive a fill or else something got stuck because I was vomiting so9lids and only keeping liquids down. So the Doctor did an "unfill" backk to 2cc(10 cc Band)--I was hungry and had minimal restriction. Had a 2nd fill on July 5th under fluoroscopy with barium and all to 5cc.That was 6 days ago and again have been vomiting solids.Went to the Doc this AM and he removed 1cc-now have 4 cc in there. They said that should be just right. I have tried mushies and have been vomiting again. I like some restriction as the weight loss is good--total of 28 pounds so far--- but I know the goal is to be able to eat small amounts of solid foods and chew well and eat slowly and lose weight. Am I doing something wrong or is My Doc too aggressive with fills. My band area is sore from vomiting as is my throat. I am very discouraged. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.Judy
  5. Leenie;Never really thought much about all those things! I know iI am the picture TAKER so I will not have to see myself in them!Hopefully that will change. Also I want to wear jeans that zip and button instead of my elastic waist pants!!!!And one more thing--want to tell my THIN boss a few choice words after I lose weight. Shes the one who told me surgery is stupid--"The best exercise you can do is push yourself away from the Table". Thanks for the encouragement!!!
  6. :Banane04: Susan:Thanks so much for the Info and Good wishes and you are an Inspiration--you are doing great!!
  7. Hello Everyone;I am Judy L. and am schedualed for Lap Banding this Monday 4/17. I am excited and anxious.I think I was Ok until my final visit with My Dr. Yesterday and all the Consent-Signing and all. I am just a bit overwhelmed. I am about 80 pounds overweight and have been heavy most of my life. I blame my Mom feeding me goodies but in fact it was and is my own fault.I have been researching this for over a year and have had many stumbling blocks with Insurance companies and Doctors but finally I am almost there.I feel like I've been given a second chance to get healthy--like someone handed me a tool and said this will help. I just wish I could get rid of some of this anxiety.I am not afraid of the discomfort involved-I guess I am afraid of failing. Any suggestions or success stories would be very much appreciated. I think you guys are great for the support and encouragement you give to each other. Judy:eek:
