1. I have a meeting with my doc on Monday morning; I'll let him know about it then. If it has slipped, are they going to have to open me up again? I paid for the whole thing in cash... I don't want to pay again.
2. I was out all day today and decided to stop for dinner and have a little Soup at the Olive Garden. I mistakingly bit a very small bit of a soup soaked bread and it got stuck. I waited for about 15 minutes and eventually, I burped and released about a cup full of saliva, the small piece of chewed bread, and some of the soup I had sipped. There wasn't any bile and it didn't necessarily feel as if I had truly vomited. Am I alright? Is it possible that I've harmed my band? What should I be concerned about? I've had some soup to eat in the last hour and I feel normal. My stomach feels like it normally does when I'm full with the band. If it were to "slip", what would I be looking for? BTW, I was just banded last Friday (it's one week now)

4. Jesus, that's a horror story. I don't understand why some people are compelled to commit those kinds of acts. I feel so bad for women/men that have to grow up with it, because in more ways than one, they're handicapped during their development as young adults (sometimes forever). My heart goes out to anyone that has to endure something that scarring. I'd be horrified if one of my siblings went through something like that. The only thing I can complain about is that my dad made food and being overweight such a big issue as a kid, that I think I may have developed issues with overeating. I don't believe that it was a conscience effort on his part, but I do feel that I developed an unhealthy relationship with food as a result, which is unfortunate.
5. I'm on my 3rd day (banded on Friday) and I've lost 13 lbs so far. I'm only drinking 60 mls of grape juice every hour, so I guess it's only right that I lose something. I don't know how long it'll go on, but we'll see.
6. I'm fat, because I have issues with portion control and what seems to be a lack of the sensation of feeling "full". <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Let's see, how do I explain this? Well, I can say that despite having gained all of this excess weight in the last 2 years, I've probably always had issues with portion control; I never feel full. So, you may be asking yourself "what happened in the last 2 years that led you to be as heavy as you are today?” All I can say is that I started my new career and met my girlfriend. I won't go into detail about my career (for privacy reasons), but I can say that all I spend most of my time reading, testing, and stressing. I have an extremely sedentary lifestyle, which is probably the root-reason for my gains, despite my ferocious appetite. I used to live a very active lifestyle before all of this (when I was a student only); I'd lift weights 5 times a week, spar, run, and so on. I've learned that when you eat like a beast, you pretty much have to live in the gym to maintain a decent weight.
7. I'm so sorry to hear that you couln't even swallow your spit; nobody deserves a struggle like that. I really hope you find some balance with your weight, because I know how hard it can be to deal with the stress that goes along with it.
8. I'm getting banded on the 21st (this Friday). I'm excited, because it'll be the first step towards getting back where I belong.
9. That's an admirable quality, Missy. I was always clueless when somebody was hitting on me, even when I was in shape.
10. Thanks, Missy. I don't feel attractive at the moment, but that's sweet of you to say.
11. Thanks, smilin_apple. I'm going to get banded on the 21st (this Friday). I'm looking forward to it, because I hate the way I look and feel (physically and emotionally). I've gone from being a very capable guy to one that is barely able to handle his own weight. I'm hoping to either look exactly like my before pics, or in a best case scenario, better. People treat you differently and in general, it seems like a lot more opportunities are afforded to you when you're not overweight. As soon as I can, I'll be hitting the weights and treadmill. I want to fill out any loose skin with solid muscle mass.
12. That's correct. Those pics were of me right before I gained my weight.
13. Having gained all of my weight in the last 2 years, I can testify that my ability to attract the ladies has diminished greatly.
14. When I lost over 100 lbs on Atkins, I had some loose skin, but I was able to fill out reasonably well with lots of weight training. Without a tuck, I'll never have that "ripped" look, but I'm more concerned with looking good in my clothes. I really hope that I can continue to gain muscle with the band, because I haven't really heard from anyone that's been able to build solid mass on it. Here are some pics of me at about 245 lbs to illustrate: One last pic with clothes (to illustrate that I don't appear to be "saggy"):
15. Hello everyone I'm originally from Los Angeles, but I currently reside in Texas (somewhere...).
