  1. I was not fooled into thinking the weight would magically disappear. Actually when you look at the big picture it takes time to learn good nutrition, build exercise habits, retrain your brain, and let your body adjust to the changes on the inside and the outside. This is a big deal. My surgeon and his team head up the Wellness Center and they are really good at making sure I understood what I was committing to. This LapBand is an amazing tool and it's saved my life. PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION is my mantra.
  2. I've been reading lapbandtalk for a while and it's been so very helpful to me. There are many of us united by obesity and I would like to introduce myself to thank everyone for their comments that have been so helpful to me over the past 8 months. I am the LapBandChic - a former fat chic. I had my LapBand placed last November 2008. As of today, I have dropped 81 pounds. Always being someone that kept journals, my family encouraged me to begin a blog to share my experiences and possibly help others. I have a nursing background so I speak from my professional background and from my heart. Please visit my blog. I hope you find it helpful and interesting and that you appreciate my sense of humor. www.lapbandchic.com
  3. LapBandChic commented on LapBandChic's blog entry in Blog 50773
I began keeping a diary (for myself) so that someday I could look back and see how far I've come. That diary has turned into an online blog that I hope offers encouragement, support, techniques and information and a few good recipes that have helped me along my way. I've lost 81 pounds and have a few more to go. Check out my blog and please leave your comments. www.lapbandchic.com

  5. I was looking for examples of foods that are eaten in a typical day. I found a day to day blog of someone that has lost 78 pounds in 6 months with a lap band. Incredible site! I tried the salmon recipe this weekend and it was great. The site is www.lapbandchic.com
