  1. Hey all, I know I don't post much here, but I wanted to let you all know that I had my surgery one week ago today!! I have lost two pounds, but that's not really my concern right now. I saw the surgeon and got my first fill appt. He said everything was looking good. Haven't been hungry in the slightest, but I have had some pain in my left shoulder. I'm drinking sugar-free Carnation instant Breakfast for my Protein and am on full liquids for another week. Thanks for all the info on this site, it has been great!
  2. Saw the doc today and my surgery is scheduled for April 9, 2009. I'm so excited!!!:thumbup:
  3. So my doc requires a "practice" pre-op diet, and I've been on it two weeks. I cheated a tiny bit, and my home scale said I was heavier than I started, so I was feeling pretty bad, and scared that they'd say something about it. Well.....I got there to see the nutritionist for my follow-up, and I had actually lost 10 pounds. Maybe its time to get a new scale, lol. So, she declared that I had passed, and I have an appt to see the surgeon next Friday (the 20th). They will schedule my surgery at that appointment!!! So...YAY!:thumbup::thumbup:
  4. I'm from Lubbock and am getting the band in about two weeks. Find out the exact time on Thursday!!
  5. Howdy, I just thought I'd make a "hello" post and see who I can meet here. I'm just starting this lap-band journey, made the appointment for the consult today. My current BMI is 38, so I'm not really sure if they'll consider me. The main reason I'm thinking of doing this is that I've struggled with my weight since age 15 and diets (Weight watchers mostly) have maxed out at 20 pounds lost every time. I like all the healthy food, but I just eat too much and I'm always hungry. Was this anyone else's reasoning? My mother died at age 41 of diabetes complications and weight 350 pounds. What really scares me is that I'm spot on track of her weight at my age. My concerns though mainly have to do with the fact that I'm so young. What kind of changes has everyone experienced after the surgery? Is there anything you can't do anymore? I guess it just freaks me out that I'll have this for the rest of my life (even though I know that it can be removed if something really bad happens). Who here has had a baby after the surgery? How did that go? If anyone has anything they think every "newbie" should know, I'd love to hear it. I guess I'll update after my consult, which is at the end of Nov. because the doc is out of town.
