I just recieved my second denial. They waited the whole 59 our of 60 days to deny my appeal. Does anyone know if you can appeal more than once? I am 218lbs. 5'3 and have hyperthyroid and hyperlidmia. They say I do not meet the 100lb requirement. Any tips hints or ideas for dealing with this total frustration? :laugh::thumbup:

Hi Lisa, I am a wife of an active duty chief who just left for a year IA to Iraq. I really want to get this surgery but, went to the forum and was so excited and then went to meet with the new PCM and she was a female PT nazi that would not give me a referral without me making a copy of all the information and having some labs and then I have to go back and "discuss" it with her...kinda frustrated. The old Navy "eat less excercise more" is just not the answer for all of us you know? I am not sure about Virginia but I do know that if you call Tricare they will give you some Drs. and "centers of excellence" in the area that will help you get started. Hope this helps. Rebecca

Hi, I'm going to see my PCM today to ask for a referral to the Bariactric Center. I have attended a seminar it was great! Does anyone know what I need to ask for other than the referral?

Thanks, I'm doing some research on the long term effects of the band, can you recommend some places to look? Is the sleeve covered by insurances also? I have Tricare and am just getting started in the approval process.

Has anyone been approved in Nevada by Tricare? Small Naval Base not sure the PCM's have any idea about the surgery?:tongue:

Hello Everyone! I will be attending a seminar on the lap-band on Tues. I am really excited! I have Tri-Care insurance and am really hoping I will get approved for the procedure. I have fought my weight all my life and am so ready for a real life! My hubby is currently getting ready to deploy to Iraq again (3 times in 4 years) and I really want to have him come home to a new improved happy, healthy me!
