i'm also scared of starting solid food..my biggest fear i guess i getting stuck! i'm mean what if i take a peice of food too big, what if it get stuck! I don't want to take any chances...it really is scary!!

I was shocked to find out that my dr had put in a 6cc fill at surgery time, in a 10cc band.. BUT, i've had no problems what so ever!! still on mushy diet, and all mushies have went down just fine..after a few bites, i'm full but no pain or anything!

I had the same pains while I was pregnant with my son and went to the hospital swearing I was in labor!! HA! the ultrasound tech said "your not in labor you have gall stones"...I just had my gall bladder out at the same time as my lapband last thursday April 30th. The dr had no problem with taking it out at the same time and I only had 1 extra incision. Healing has been a little more painful because of the 2 procedures but I glad I only had to have one surgery. Good Luck!

yes he read right from my file, you have 10cc band and i put 6cc in it already! I was like WOO-HOO! i had hear at one of my other visits another patient asking him if she had any Fluid and he told her she had a 14cc with 8cc put in at surgery! As far as restriction goes i guess i do have some,but i am hungry, so i dont know?????

Had my 5 day post-op appointment today, got the staples taken out, boy does that feel good! I lost 7.5 pounds in 5 days! i've been really sticking to the liquid diet. There was a woman that got banded same day as me, and she only lost 2 pounds, but said she cheated. She had a quart of egg drop Soup yesterday!! I don't think i could even get that down! Was happy to hear that i have a 10cc band and dr filled it to 6cc at surgery...now on Protein shakes for next 10 days then will move on mushie stage.

i'm so glad they did it all at once, cause i don't want to go back for another surgery!! good luck...

no, i'm on clear liquids only till tuesday!! feeling a little better today..

OH boy am i sore!! dr called me today to check up on me and said i would be extra sore because of the 2 procedures...OUCH!!!! no gas pain, just belly pain, and of course i'm actually hungery!! hope i feel better tomorrow!!

My PCP wrote a GREAT letter as well to send to cigna that went with the first packet of stuff and they still need to see that my BMI was over 40, 24 months ago..keep trying don't give up!! keep us posted!

I just got denied by Cigna for the same thing..it's a biggie with them, but i was able to get a record from the dr saying that in 2007 my bmi was over 40. Once they got that paper was approved within 24 hours!!!

hi I live in NEPA..and I am going to be having my surgery in Port Jervis, NY because my insurance Cigna makes you go to a center of excellance and none of the hospitals in this area are.

I also have gallstones and my dr will be taking out my gall bladder at the same time as my lap band.
