  1. My BMI is also over 50 and the doc told me that in order to allow him as much room as possible to place the band I would have a diet of protein shakes twice a day and a healthy choice meal 1 meal a day. The shrink my liver. That way he will have more room to negotiate around in my abdominal cavity. He wants me on that eating program for 1 month pre op.
  2. I haven't even had my surgery yet so I am by no means an expert but... first STOP kicking your self! secondly get in touch with your surgeon, do you need a fill? Maybe call a nutritional specialist and a therapist... But most importantly STOP beating your self up!!!
  3. :smile:Thank you all for your responses. I am encouraged by each and every one of your stories.
  4. Hello to everyone. I saw the surgeon today for the first time. I got a referral for a psych and nutritional consult before we can set the date for surgery. I also have to lose some weight to decrease the size of my liver. Does all that sound right to those of you who have been banded. The other thing that bothers me is my husband told me he didn't want me to tell people that I am planning this procedure?! I don't get it. It doesn't matter at all to me if someone knows about it. Thanks for listening and I imagine I am going to need some support through this preop diet! Polly
