  1. Hi Scotschick have to confess I really haven't been on this forum as much as I should have so I was unaware that Cavalier2us was running a support group - but I would defo be up for attending the next meeting if only to meet other folk in the same situation - if you find out the details please pass them on. I used to live in Midlothian - Newtongrange. I work in Edinburgh (12 hours shifts) so I get quite a lot of time off in between shifts so let me know if you fancy getting together sometime.
  2. Hi Scotschick glad to hear you are feeling so well and are back on you feet - I live in East Lothian about 6 miles from Edinburgh so if you fancy a coffee/chat let me know we could maybe arrange a little get together.
  3. Forgot to mention the Ross Hall also run a Support Group the next meeting of the Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery Support Group is on Saturday 25th October at 11.00am in the Boardroom at the Ross Hall Hospital, 221 Crookston Road, Glasgow (Crookston Station is a short walk away)
  4. Hi I'm also new to this site, I live just outside Edinburgh and had my band fitted on September 11th at the Ross Hall Hospital in Glasgow, my surgeon was Ross Carter and I can recommend him to anyone thinking about this type of surgery, he has been fantastic as have all the nursing staff at the hospital and his evening clinics. His clinics are on a Wednesday evening and he usually does his operations on a Thursday. Yes it is expensive £7950 but this covers absolutely everything, and no money is taken until the day of the operation and 6 months interest free credit is available via the hospitals own BMI card. I had my first consultation with a nurse, nutritionalist and Ross Carter at the end of July, another appointment with with all 3 again in August and my op in September, with a follow up 2 weeks later and another just last week when I had my first fill. I have so far lost 26lbs and have another appointment for 2 weeks time, and have been told I can have as many or as few consultations as I feel I need as part of my payment, this includes nurse, nutritionalist and Ross Carter. Ross Carter has a fantastic reputation and works as a consultant at the Southern General. Hope this helps
