  1. Im scheduled for my surgery in 2 days, 4/20/06. Hopefully I wont experience any issues with keloids. However, I do have a history of keloid skin (result of hip replacement surgery as a kid).
  2. Common to the scars Blacks endured throughout slavery from whips, yes, a keloid is the extreme blistering of the skin which causes the scar tissue to rise above the skin. Generally occurs from a cut or burn.
  3. Im sure if you read these postings about people's experiences you will see the frustrations and disappointment.
  4. I didnt have diabetes or anything. Just overweight. I got approved in 3 days from UHC. Its a PPO. I was required by my doctor to see around 6 doctors. A nutritionist, gastroenterologist, psychiatrist, pulmonary, cardiologist, and someone else, plus they took bloods, just went through a lot of red tape, which took a week because I was determined and could work around a schedule. UHC is cool. They also approved a breast reduction in 5 days. That is scheduled for August because they said in order to avoid another lift, to wait until I lost some weight.
  5. Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. Im Kim and will be banded April 20, 2006. Ive read, on this site, that some people get the wrong size band or dont receive fills the day of the surgery and dont lose weight. I am hoping that mine goes through smooth and I do see results. I look forward to sharing my story with everyone.
