    Got my surgery date!!!!

Well initially i was really thinking lap band, but i was still very on the fence, and after i talked to my doctor he said that because of my medical problems already that Gastric Bypass might be the better fit for me. the only big thing before this that made me want lapband, was because i was told that you cannot get pregnant after bypass, and for me only being 19, thats a problem, but after talking to my doctor he said that pregnancy would be absolutely fine in my case at least, and after thinking it over for about a month, i decided that Bypass, would be the perfect fit for me. its really an idividual thing, i just feeel that it fits me best, a lot of people find lap band to be the better fit. but yeah, thats pretty much how i decided on bypass.

    "Program Fees"

I was charged 1750 by my doctor, for the program fee, it covered the medical screenings and a fitness program. it really was inconvenient:blink: because my boyfriend is a physical trainer so its really not needed for me to see the fitness team. but oh well. it really sucked tho the program fee, i haven't heard of one as high as yours, but i have seen many program fees.

    down 7 pounds

So i have had my consultation and i'm in between gastric bypass and band at this point in time, but that is not a decision i have to make for a few more weeks yet! I got really sick this week and lost 7 pounds in two days. I thought it would just be water weight and it would instantly come back, but its been a few days and i'm still doing good! i'm soooo excited for this change in my life.
  8. I had my seminar, and got pretty much approved for the surgery through insurance, i scheduled my consultation, where i will do my official weigh in for insurance. I was 260 just last week, and my eating habits haven't even changed, but i'm loosing weight i've lost 6 pounds this week and i know i will just gain it right back but i getter gain it back before my freaking consultation!!! i'm right on the edge of 40 BMI but i should be able to get approved with 35 or above because i have PCOS. any advice or thoughts?

    loosing weight too early

Thank you so much beth, i totally agree with you on a lot of aspects. i'm just nervous either way and i definitely need to do a little more research until i feel positive about on or the other. one of the big things is that the longest a lapband has been put in is a little less than 20 years and it was eroded and stuff and i'm only 19 that means i got at least 60 years on this band, and no doctor know what if my band can last that long. and i can tell you i don't want to be getting this surgery every 20 years.

    loosing weight too early

okay so i had my consultation! and i am approved with my weight and everything i measured at exactly 40.0 bmi haha! butttt now i have another choice, my doctor says that Gastric Bypass would be better for me. but in the end it is my choice, so now i'm really contemplating just getting gastric. what do you guys think?

    loosing weight too early

oh thats really cool though beth, i'm so glad you got approved! i go tomorrow for my consultation i'm so nervous and excited i feel like i'm going crrraaaaazzzzy :purplebananna:!!! that three pounds was hell and definitely the hardest three pounds to gain of my life. I'm really hoping that this doctor considers PCOS a comorbidity i've heard it go either way. so we'll see i'll keep you guys posted! thank you so much for all your support.

    loosing weight too early

thank you guys for your advice! I'm already starting to go back up, so thats good. i really do think it was just water weight or something, but i'm definitely going to have a hamburger or something before my consult! heh. it may be wrong in some sense but i'm not letting a couple pounds, stand in the way of my entire life.

    Wondering...

I think you will definitely go through a mental transition as well, but i think you will still be yourself, just a better happier you. and i think that a lot of woman that have marriage problems afterwards are women that had marriage problems to start with. a lot of women get "stuck" in relationships with men because they dont feel they are good enough for a good man. and i think this is the main reason why you here of so many women who leave their husbands when they find confidence. But like me, My fiance and i have a great relationship and i think that our relationship will be stronger afterwards because i will know that he stood by me in the worst of my conditions. and I dont think i could ever leave somebody that is so wonderful to me and stood by me through so much.
