  1. I'm a little anxious about getting to solids also. I'll be happy to have something that doesn't have to be pureed first. I am also worried about getting something stuck... I even had a dream about it only I woke up before I found out whether I got the food out or not. LOL  I probably sound pretty silly. An egg with mushrooms and ff cheese sounds wonderful and pretty safe. I can't to see what the doc says tomorrow at my first follow-up appointment.
  2. I hope you are right! I also hope we have as easy as a time as you did. It's nice hear about those who say they didn't much to complain about. I also try to remember too that everyones pain thresh holds are different. My hubby moves around a lot when he sleeps so I'll for sure be using an extra pillow or two for protection. :crying: Thanks for the info.
  3. Hi HunnyBunny! I'm new around here too. I'm from Missouri, have been married 22 years and have two kids (my baby is a Senior in high school this year). I see that you and I share the same band date. I think most of us newbies feel the same waiting for the band, I know I do. I hear the gas is really bad afterwards from surgery itself. I figure if that's the only "complication" I have I'll be happy. The nurse told me during my pre-op test last Thursday to just belch and walk, belch and walk. LOL I'll do whatever it takes to get rid of it. I had my gallbladder removed about 18 years ago and the only thing I remember about it was the gas too. Good Luck on Tuesday! :smile2:
  4. I know how you feel! My surgery date is 10/14. I'm really anxious about the surgery itself. I've had two unrelated surgerys before... last one over 15 years ago. I'm older now I guess and it just freaks me out. Also, I started my 2 week pre diet last Tuesday. Slimfast for breakfast and lunch; ww or lien cuisine for dinner. Otherwise, 1 cup fruit per day. Unlimited jello, sf popcycles, coffee, tea, clear broth and crystal light. 2 c max diet soda, skim milk or sherbert. --- I snuck in some cheese on a couple different days... Do any of you think this will really hurt anything? I know it's to shrink the liver but I have done near as much food damage as I used to. :tt1:
  5. I feel the same way! My surgery is on the 14th. I'm excited  and scared too! I'm scared of the surgery itself, I'm afraid of the things that I've heard can happen afterwards...the mucus, the slipping, pbing. Is there such a thing at TOO MUCH research?? I'm excited about the potential I have to lose this time! My hubby and I, my best friend and I like to go out to eat. We did that way to much. That will change now and part of me isn't sure how I feel about that. I worry about things being different with my hubby and my friend. So much of our time has been about FOOD. My doctor requires a two week liquid diet prior to surgery... slimfast for breakfast and lunch, WW or Lean Cuisine meal for supper. Water and other liquids are allowed. My hubby and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary by going out to dinner for my "last supper"... how bad is that? I want to change. I want to lose weight! I have to for my health!
