  1. Hi Gracie!! I got VSG surgery at 20 years old. I started my pre-op diet two weeks before surgery at 19. (My birthday is on January 2nd) I’m also a college student and I will not lie to you, getting weight loss surgery and coming back on campus was the hardest thing I ever had to do. My dining hall on campus didn’t cater to my needs during the post-op stage. To be honest, I was going home every other weekend because I knew I would get what I needed from home. I live about an hour and a half away from campus so it was pretty pricey to do so. I’m down approximately 40 pounds since January and I don’t think I have loose skin but I definitely lost my booty lol. It’s not really a big deal for me but I do plan on going to the gym more often. If you have any other concerns or want to know more about my experience, please reach out!! I don’t know much young people that have gotten weight loss surgery but I’m excited for us as we are turning our life around!! I hope everything goes well!!
  2. Hello everyone, I was sleeved on Jan 10th. For the past two weeks I have to have chinese takeout in my fridge. I am a college student so I don’t have access to a stove just a microwave (an air fryer really) and fridge. I am pretty content with how much weight i’ve lost. I’m just mourning the loss of my butt. I know it isn’t ideal to always eat chinese food nearly every day but I guess it works for me. I wanted to know if anyone else can relate to being hyper-fixed to a food. My order is usually chicken and broccoli with light sauce and rice or vegetable/chicken lo mein. That’s all I get but because I can eat such small portions, 1 order can last me about a week and a half.
  3. Hi all, i’m 13 days post op ( really excited to have soft foods starting tomorrow). Is anyone else sick of the diet drinks. They all taste the exact to me, super sweet. I’m thinking I should’ve just got the regular one and watered it down. Also TW* (poop) how are you all making yourself poop. My constipation is at an all time high and I just wish everything could go back to normal.
  4. I miss eating fruit cups. I miss eating mango and pineapples and peaches.
  5. Hi all, is it normal to be craving fast food 4 days post op? I will definitely let my surgeon know about this soon

  8. Hi all, I had the sleeve done on the 10th. I still don’t feel like myself and I’m glad that I found this resource. I’m not sure why more people don’t talk about the discomfort post op. I’m also having a hard time drinking, i’m not feeling hungry either. I have small feeling of regret but I am trying to remind myself of the long run. Can anyone relate?
