  1. Great suggestions. I like September Slimsters a lot!
  2. Hi TicTac and Mosean6278and others Sept Bandsters. Two days until banding for me also - Tuesday Sept 1 at 11:30 EST. I am also getting nervous - thinking about the discomfort and missing work. I only plan on being off for 2 days and then working from home (desk work) on Thursday and Friday. Hope that is enough. Even though I have been on liquids for 12 days, I still am hungry. Hopefully it will go away after the surgery. Good luck to you!
  3. Hi All - I am on my 8th day of protein shakes and liquids and am doing ok. I miss food and like many of you wonder how I can cut back so much for good. I guess we have to stick with support groups to help! My surgery is on September 1. I've been working at this for 1 1/2 years so it's hard to believe it's really going to happen! Good luck everyone.
  4. Hi ColoradoMom - 3 days of clear liquids and no protein shakes even? That would be really challenging. It's interesting how the surgeons are so different in their requirements. It will all be worth it! Good luck!
  5. Hi Kimr, I am being banded on Sept 1 and have been on the liquid diet for 6 days now. For protein, I am having Costco Protein shakes or Muscle Milk shakes. The other liquids I am having are water, broth, calorie-free flavored water, diet soda (can't have after surgery), sugar free popsicles and sugar-free jello. I also drink coffee in the morning and herbal tea in the evening. I am pretty hungry though....
  6. Hello everyone. My surgery date is September 1. I've had my preop nutrition class and my visit to weigh in with my surgeon. I start my liquid diet next Wednesday - exactly the day that company comes to visit for 5 days! Uuugh! I think I will have 1 meal with them on the 1st day (sort of my last supper) and then begin my liquid diet. I hope someone visiting is a pleasant distraction to being on a liquid diet. Lots of luck to all of you!
  7. Thanks everyone. I think I can release the absolute worry I had. I am comfortable cutting back to 1 or 2 cups per day, but I know I am not ready to go cold turkey on coffee during all of these other changes.
  8. Hi. My surgery is scheduled for 9/1 and I will start my pre-op diet next week. Do you need to give up caffeinated coffee with the lapband? If so, can someone tell me why? That is actually my biggest worry at present. Thanks!
  9. Hi - I am scheduled to have surgery with Dr. Long on Sept 1. I have had a very good experience so far with her and her office staff. I will keep you posted!
  10. Hi Lisa - I have not had the surgery yet, but was just approved by my insurance today to have surgery with Dr. Long. I believe that she is on maternity leave until mid-July
  11. Hi - I am not to the board but not new to the idea of lapband surgery. I went to the information meeting in July 2007 and still have not had it done. I travel a lot for work which makes all of the required prep for the surgery difficult. I have a goal to have the surgery by Thanksgiving. The trickiest part is understanding my insurance requirements. Originally they said a medically supervised diet, so I have been seeing my doctor almost monthly and participating in on-line weight watchers. The last time I called they said the weight watchers participation has to be in person...uuugh! I am really looking forward to the opportunity to have the surgery. I am at the age where I realize how much weight affects your health and prospects of growing old. Good luck to all of you:smile2:
