  1. Anyone else NOT feel full? Like everything says stop eating before you feel full. Welp I never feel full, or hungry. The only time I've felt 'full' was when I was eating way too quickly, probably had too much and literally could feel the food stuck in my esophagus because there was no room left in my stomach. Guess I'll just carry my handy dandy 1/4 measuring cup with me the rest of my life. 😂😭
  2. The title basically says it all. I get pain when I drink. Actually in the area they said the watch for immediately after surgery. My appointment is next week so I surely bring it up then. But do any of yall have experience with this?

    December Surgery Buddies!

My goodness. First of all I'd contact the hospital ombudsman about the experience there. Secondly, how bad was your Gerd before? That was the decision maker for my doctor on which surgery we were doing. A sleeve actually will make it worse. I was on 80mg of omeprezole daily before my surgery. Now I'm on 20 mg as a prevention. But, with a roux en y, that part of your stomach is connect so much further down that it eliminates the acid reflux. I am so sorry for your experience. I definitely would look into seeing another doctor. Just for the fact alone that your reflux will be worse now...it used to have an entire stomach to be in....now it will just have basically a tube to go right up into your throat. Im so mad for you. There are good doctors out there, and nurses. If you are able to get the roux, I would. I'd also request that if you're in the same hospital that the nasty nurse isn't allowed around you.

    December Surgery Buddies!

Oof yall. My doctor had me on a pre op, high protein diet a week before. I started it two weeks to be sure my liver was shrunk enough. But, he also said that IF it wasn't, that he would do a sleeve instead of a roux en y. Then we could do the roux later. I can only see closing you back up if you were even too big for a sleeve. This is a procedure you should talk to him about if you want a roux but may not be able to get it at the time. Oh and I was only full clear liquid the day before surgery.
  5. Yes I am mostly sipping. Sometimes I may be drinking too quickly. Maybe it is the cold. But I so get it even with sipping. This is new too...it was not happening in the first two weeks. Oh also not always alot of time between sips. I'm a thirsty girl. 😅
  6. So, Ill be 2 weeks post op on Wednesday. Last week on Wednesday I was from 247 down to 227. Now, I'm currently at 230 !!!??? Why? ?? It's so stressful to see that 3 pound gain. I have been following my diet well, with the exception of not always eating 5 or 6 times a day. Is that why? But shouldn't I still lose?? Honestly I just forget because I don't get hungry. Or I'll be busy trying to wrangle 3 children. I can't eat what they eat and it's not very convenient to make pureed foods all the time. It's a process ya know. Some days idek how much liquids I drink. I'm not great at tracking. But I've had a mix of juice, milk and water. Anyway, has anyone else experienced this? Did I already ruin the good thing I had going??? Please help friends! Thank you!

Bouncing weight loss for past week??

Update....still only at 228 as of a few minutes ago....although I started my period nice and a week early. So maybe that's it? Idk....but it's been almost two weeks with no loss....kind of disheartening BUT I'm still holding out hope that this will work! I know I'm not overeating...so it's not that..

    December Surgery Buddies!

So 5 days post op I was put on pureed from full liquid. The chili my doctors gave examples of is Wendy's chili. I made my own, beef, red and kidney beans, tomato sauce and paste, and seasonings. Even in my binder it was clear liquid for 3 days, full liquid like pudding, cream of wheat, jello, ect for 10 days....so that would only be 13. But I had 3 days of full liquid and was clear for puree. Now that's my doctor, for roux en y. Maybe yours has you on a different plan for specific reasons, and maybe there's a misunderstanding about your liquid diet time period, because yeah I couldn't do 17 days with only liquids.

    December Surgery Buddies!

Hello! I just got my surgery last week on the 13th. At my last appointment at the weightloss centre I was 252 pounds. That was about 2 and a half weeks before surgery. But, at my pre op appointment, a week and a half before surgery, I was down to 247. On the 18th, 5 days after my surgery they weighed me at 240 I believe. This morning, my scale said 229. My doctors office is going by my last weight with them, but I'm going with my last preop weight. Either way it's almost 20 pounds in one week and two days! It's crazy! I don't see the 20 pounds gone yet, but that's okay! I am missing crunchy foods though! But the sugar free pudding, chili and mashed potatoes have been rather good to eat over that clear liquid diet!
  11. If someone can help me update My Surgery section I'd appreciate it! I simply cannot figure out how to edit it. 😅 Oh also I'm post op not pre op.
