  1. Comparison of others is the thief of joy! YOU ARE DOING AMAZING!!!
  2. I have lost 122lbs as of this morning whoop whoop!! I have a size 8 not sure what size I have now but I have big hands lol Even my sister who is much smaller than and doesn't have weight problems has thicker fingers. Its our Irish curse in our family. Big calves and fingers LOL so even though I am working on my weight being stabilized I am not sure if my ring will reduce in size either. Perhaps I wait 6 more months and just do spacers.
  3. all great suggestions! Its actually just a ring that my guy got me a few years back. Not engagement or wedding like a commitment ring. but its based off Mulan my favorite Disney princess (she is a princess!) LOL I love it and wear it every single day. Might need to just do the spacers for now. I dont wear it working out anymore but maybe its just time for him to buy me the real thing hehe
  4. Mine is starting to fall off and the knuckle is barely holding it on. I am no longer able to workout with it on. I am wondering if its time to just resize it.
  5. I have been using Nioxin Stage 3, I do a bayalge with blond every 3 ish months and I will say using the shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment REALLY REALLY helped! I also put a Rosemary oil in my hair the night before hair wash day (I only wash my hair 2x a week) My shedding IS SIGNIFIGANTLY less. I also use 2 TBLS of collagen in my profee every morning along and biotin with my morning vitamins.
  6. So my college course takes tests on this program called "respondus" where the system locks us out of using anything else and records us, It asks us to show ID to verify our identity. I look WAY different in my DL I am curious once my professor sees it, he will question if its me. LOL
  7. My dietician said I only needed to do 1 day because I had lost 30lbs pre-op and was eating what I was supposed to. She said if I didn't then we would have a different convo.
  8. I make a decaf cold brew and add the Caffe Latte Premier Protein shake (I know I know no caffeine, but I have tolerated it well and its the only caffeine I have all day). I found recipes for some for "shakes", 1 cookies and cream premier with 3 tbls of sugar free fat free cheesecake jello powder mix for an Oreo cheesecake mix. Caramel premier with decaf cold brew and there is a zero everything caramel sauce my Jordan Mims Skinny Syrup that you can top onto your shakes with a drizzle. PB Chocolate Premier shake with 1tbls of pb2 and ice. You can also make protein pudding with 1 package of the sugar free fat free jello mix and one shake. Anywho! I drink a profee every single day because I love them and my first bite of food was eggs and it was HEAVY. just go slow and find foods you enjoy! Okay I'm done with my tangent LOL
  9. Yes, the surgeon also required blood work and an EKG test- I think? but needed my WLS surgeon and Primary signing off. Glad to see this is a normal practice somewhere else.
  10. took your guys' advice and am going to meet with two other plastic surgeons who have STELLER reviews! Both have worked on bariatric patients, they both are pricier but also more local. I am excited about this process its something to look forward to
  11. Well that alone is a HUGE NSV!! whoop whoop!! 2lbs down yasss!!! killing it! How many calories are you eating? I had my surgery 1/24 I eat around 1000-1100 but I work out like crazy. I'm a bit coo coo LOL I started with walking on my lunches for 20min, worked up to 30min, now I still walk on my lunches for 30 min, go to the gym or work out at home, 30min weight lifting, and i take my pup for a run for 20-30min. Movement really helps! Just giving you a run down of what I eat and you can take it or leave it lol but I wake up make my protein coffee- Decaf cold brew with 2tbls of collagen and a café late premier protein shake (i know I know no caffeine allowed but I haven't had adverse effects) I make these crustless quiches for my bfast: eggs whites, spinach, 1 slice of ham (deli meat kind) top with thin sargento sharp cheddar cheese on top of it. I make like little mini loaves for the week, Lunches are always a protein and a veggie. One week I did Just Bare chicken bites and carrots lol- own little take on a Wing place- This week I am doing a bento box with grapes, strawberries, celery, cucumber, cracker or quinoa chips, turkey roll up with a laughing cow cheese and nuts. snacks are a Greek yogurt. I weight and measure everything. Input everything into my netdiary tracking app and stick to it for the week. I am not perfect at all, Ill come home and grab a popsicle or fruit and might go over my calories for the day, but hey this is a lifestyle change and this is life long. Its hard to remember that when we all have so much weight to lose and we want that immediate satisfaction, but we got this!
  12. My suggestion is to make sure you are tracking every bite, lick, and taste. Ensure you are hitting your protein goals, water goals, taking all your vitamins. Also making sure you moving at least 30min 5-6 days a week. Swimming is great, walking is great, anything that you can fit into your day. You got this! remember this is life long, and the journey is never straight down unfortunately. Utilize this tool and take advantage of the first year as much as you can. You got this!!! P.S your doing AMAZING!
  13. I ditto what everyone else says, but I dropped in to say WOW YOUR DOING AMAZING!!! I am with @SleeveToBypass2023 I am someone who is responding to the surgery very well and the weight is melting off. Sounds like you are too! Try not to weight yourself everyday its gets to be daunting. I know it works for some but I know for me it becomes an obsession and its not healthy. Maybe try to squeeze in an extra walk or start with light weight lifting. Something to get your body moving really is a good distraction
  14. I am not sure, she just told me that "your going to lose more weight so in 8months your going to come back to me and want me to tuck more, because your so fresh I want to see if your WLS surgeon would rather you wait" I took it as coming from a good place without her saying you should wait to get better results? Idk I could be way off though.
  15. Im not sure, none of mine is going to be covered by insurance. Maybe its just the surgeon that wants to take precaution?
  16. Best decision right! Wish I would've made it earlier. Never would have thought I was capable of everything that I have been doing. Weight lifting, what?! running 2.5miles with my pup, who me?! Still having the energy to play with my kids and spend time with my husband without falling asleep. Wow! This is truly a second chance at life so lets take full advantage!! Happy to have you on this crazy and fun ride!
  17. Im not sure, I am in CA if that makes a difference. My WLS surgeon said to wait the year, I won't regret the results. So I shall listen ugh!
  18. oh no hunny LOL! We went through everything I could do. Back lift, arm lift, breast augmentation with lift, lower body lift (taking 15inches in the front and 10inch off the back), inner light lift. Its about 70k. Which I would LOVE to do but no way. If I can get a tummy tuck arms and boobs I would be so happy everything else is fine enough for me that I am not self conscious about. or that with the weight lifting has been getting tighter.
  19. I am in the looking stage, I JUST had my appt with my surgeon and he was like HOLY **** (not really his words) but he said I am above the curve, but told me he wouldn't sign off on the surgery until at least a year. he said any weight that I lose right now is bonus weight loss. That I could really work on maintaining if I wanted but If I lost more it would help with the regain if there is some. He told me to wait the year, plus the plastic surgeon said she would need my WLS surgeon and primary to sign off. So I already got the NO LOL *LE SIGH*
  20. Im looking. Not booking, would be deposit down but wouldn't get surgery until Jan at 1yr post op. Yes, my plastic surgeon said that I would need to get the sign off from my WLS surgeon, who I just spoke to and he said wait the year. I just want boobs LOL
  21. On Realself.com her reviews are good, on Yelp not so much. She specializes on all BMI's, which attracted me to her. Alot of women who had a lot of skin and she made them look great. The reviews are all older, not super recent. Read the reviews for Dr. Katzen and his yelp reviews aren't great either. Maybe its a yelp thing! lol
  22. I had my first consult last Friday and I liked her and the practice. From the consult to them answering my questions its been a pretty good experience. I tried another surgeon in my area who two women have gotten work done by and the first call seemed off. However the one I like, has beautiful before and after pictures but her Yelp reviews are not great. The surgeon I feel off about (haven't met with him) has great reviews. I am willing to put my deposit down on the one I like now to work toward it but I am nervous after reading the negative reviews. What did you all do?
  23. Happyyyyyy Monday!!!! Yesterday I ran 2.5miles with my pup and that was a HUGE NSV for me! I have been working up to it, but kinda of a weird weekend. It was such a busy weekend so I grazed a bit instead of sitting down and eating a full meal. so that annoyed me that I did that when its not my typical eating habits. Other than that, so far so good!
  24. Thank you all for making me feel justified! I have an appt with my surgeon today and plan on speaking to him in regards to her comments. Also talking to him about goal weights and such. I felt like I self sabotaged this weekend. I didn't eat terrible but I didn't eat great either. We were so busy, I grazed. still tracked it but didn't sit and eat a meal which of course made me graze. But today is a new day!
  25. Had an appt with my Dietician and I am so irritated, like so bothered! I told her that I weight train 6x a week on top of cardio 6x a week. Went over how much I ate and what type of foods and she told me I am eating too much protein, and I need to stop drinking my proffee in the morning only have decaf coffee. She said I need to eat under 100g of protein even though I am weight training. I could not respond, I am not trying to be thin my goal is to get fit and shapely which is why I weight train. My multivitamins I have to adjust which I knew I needed to. I feel so discouraged by what she said, she told me that the 1000 cal is "ok". I asked what that meant, she said I am on the higher scale of what I should eat at 5months post op, I told her but I workout for an hour plus a day? If I ate less I would pass out from exhaustion. My post surgeon team completely left me to figure this all out on my own. I was supposed to have a 6 week and 3 month group appt which she asked why I didn't attend....I told her because your team never called me to set them up and I didn't know that was even a thing. So I have been on my own since week 2. I thought I was kicking ass and taking names, now I am so bummed. Just venting
