  1. Hello everyone, just wanted to post an update about me. I had my Gastric bypass surgery August 16, 2023. My heaviest weight was 260 lbs, documented weight starting the bariatric program was 249lbs and weigh in on day of surgery was 235.6 lbs. I managed to drop down to 176lbs and I stopped losing between the 6-9 month mark fluctuating between 183-186 lbs and now I did a weigh in at 189lbs. I noticed now I am experiencing more digestive issues like everything I eat is causing bloating, indigestion, heart burn, hyperglycemia episodes and feeling lost of coordination some days. I don't have medical insurance to get a thorough check up from surgeon but the only thing I can account for is me not taking my vitamins, not being as active, still snacking and mentally always ready to eat even when I don't want to because I will feel stomach cramps or light headed, How are you all during your journey?

  3. Hi, I had gastric bypass surgery August 16, 2023. My heaviest weight ever was 260 lbs, but I started the 6 month weight loss program weighing 249lbs (5'3"). I had to do a one week of liquid diet which was just protein shakes, water, decaf tea. I can honestly say it was the hardest 3 days of my life on the liquid diet because the physical pains of hunger was a constant reminder I needed food. Day 4-7 was more so a mental hunger and I had a boost of energy. What helped me was just constantly drinking LOTS of water though out the day and keeping myself busy. Heaviest weight: 260lbs Starting weight: 249lbs Surgery weight (day of surgery) 235lbs Current weight: 181lbs Peppermint tea helped eased the hunger pains when I was experiencing stomach cramps. Also, no one told me my tongue will turn white, like literally a coating of white film on my tongue during the liquid diet phase. Something to do with ketosis (detox of sugar from body) Best of luck!
  4. Did your doctor give you a list of what was tolerated on the liquid diet? I would just follow what was suggested for the liquid diet phase. Each doctor has their own plan specialized for their patients. I had gastric bypass and had to do a full one week of protein, water and decaf tea. My friend who had the sleeve also did a full one week liquid diet but also was allowed one low cal meal.
  5. So maybe super embarrassing but no one told me I'll be sitting on cooter and butt bone when losing weight, their is no padding down there. ???

  11. Hello GB 8/16 any updates anyone? Weight loss? Exercising? Food intolerance? Mental health? Body dysmorphia? Changes in relationships with friends, family or spouse? Any non-victory scale?
  12. Hello, I had GB on 8/16/23 I developed slight acne along my jaw line and chin around 2 weeks post op. I am now 5 weeks post op and my acne has subsided but left me with acne scars. I was just told it was my hormones fluctuating and to make sure to reach protein and water goals as well as take my bariatric vitamins.

  16. I'm great! Had GB on 8/16. I have energy and on phase 2 of my food plan- soft/puree diet. So far no vomiting, nausea or discomfort at this moment. I tried egg bites recipe on tik tok and canned chicken nuggets. Easy recipe to use and very few ingredients. I'm looking forward to eating salads and sushi in the near future. Heaviest weight: 260lbs Weight start of program: 249lbs Weight day of surgery: 235 Today's weight: 223 I'm 5'3
  17. Make sure you're keeping yourself hydrated. I literally kept myself hydrated to where my urine was clear and that helped the physical pain of hunger and feeling weak.
  18. Is the feeling similar to a coffee withdrawal or eating too much of something sweet?
  19. Post surgical acne anyone? GB on 8/16 Acne making its appearance on my jaw line and more oily skin
  20. Can I vent? I'm tired of injecting myself with the blood thinners medications. I have a 30 day supply and I am on day 13.
