  1. Hey everyone I am 1 day post op and still have a bit of gas coming through which is expected but happy to be in a normal bed instead of the hospital! Anyone else have to do blood thinner injections? Was it easy to do on yourself?

    1 Day Post Op

I called and the doctor said that it could be the start of my blood thinners and or all the pressure inside my abdomen with the gas and all that and I’ve never had a surgery before especially not one this major!

    1 Day Post Op

No catheter was used and when I spoke to my surgeon he said he wasn’t sure what it was from. I read that it could be kidney stones or a UTI but so far today I have been okay with nothing in my urine but I plan on seeing my primary doctor to make sure all is well

    1 Day Post Op

I reported it to my dr and he said if I didn’t feel sick that I should be okay. It only happens when I urinate and not in between so I know it’s my cycle

    1 Day Post Op

Thank you! And okay I just want to make sure some things are normal. I have also just recently stated to have blood in my urine but I don’t feel sick and I don’t feel any pain or anything in my kidneys just gas in my abdomen of course. I saw that it could be a uti and I’m hoping that’s the case

    Introducing myself

How have you felt within these last few months in your weight loss? Like do you feel more energetic? More enthusiastic? You’re doing great! My doctor says you will introduce food a little at a time as If you were like a child eating new things for the first time!
  7. Hello! Newbie here👋🏽 I finished my first official day of being on an all liquid diet and honestly I’m hangry, I’m a bit irritated, and I just want to eat! Lol but I’m hoping after about day 3 or 4 I don’t feel the need to eat like I used to. Any tips on how to curve the craving for food in general?? Surgery date is August 7th😮‍💨
  8. Well guys my liquid diet has officially started as of yesterday afternoon! I can have low fat cottage cheese, low fat or light yogurt and of course sugar free popsicles! Did anyone receive a binder for right after surgery to minimize pain in the abdomen? How did you feel after waking up from surgery?
  9. On my first day I ended up doing broth for dinner and it actually helped I’m thinking because of the saltiness but I am not a big fan of the texture of jello! I also try the V8 vegetable juice and it’s so gross but sometimes we all gotta push through!
  10. Yeah that sounds like a better idea since I’ve already gone the day and a half on strictly liquids but you’re suggestion sounds like a good way to keep going and not be as hungry for food in general when it comes the strictly liquid prior to my surgery! Thank you 😊
  11. Maybe I’ll get that lucky and only have to do it for a day but something tells me it’ll be like 3-4 days before but I will cross that bridge when I get to it for sure! I have just been watching what I eat today which hasn’t been much but mostly protein!
  12. Okay I’m sure I’ll figure it out! I just got the app yesterday so I’m still trying to figure my way around everything! But I appreciate everyone’s support and answers it helps a lot!
  13. That’s a really neat tool! Is it something that your doctor hooked you up with? Or something you were able to get on your own?
  14. Oh wow that’s amazing! Do you mind me asking what your goal weight is and how you are sustaining the weight loss over time? And you’re right we all have something different and with different doctors it’s best to go by what he says then lol
  15. Thank you! I just got off the phone with the doctor and he said I don’t have to be on a liquid diet until he tells me to be so should I continue? Or maybe just watch what I’m eating?
  16. I don’t believe I’m allowed to eat any solid foods. I planned on calling my surgeon to validate that I’m supposed to be on a full liquid diet. And yes! I did 3 shakes yesterday (breakfast, lunch, dinner) with 2 jello cups for a snack in between and a popsicle if I just need to chew something. It’s day 2 and so far I feel less irritated than I did yesterday lol so we are moving along okay! I do however feel a bit nauseous which I’m sure is normal
  17. I’m definitely going to try and stay busy and get some rest. My grandmother had the surgery about a year ago almost so I plan on staying with her because I’m thinking being around her will help me get through this part!
