  1. It is really nice to hear from someone else going through the same thing. I was banded on the 24th and have lost 9# so far, but do not expect to keep up that rate as I get to the regular food part. Liquids kind of just pass through the band. I see the doctor on Tuesday (4 days). Staying only on liquids is tough. I think I am ready for some mushies as long as they are easy to pass through the band, but I will check with my doc first. I am really feeling great and started back to work today with no problems. The port area is still a little swollen and sore, but not too bad any more. Possum 60
  2. I was banded on the 24th and have lost 9 lbs. I do still have pain in the port area, but it is getting a little less each day. It does get worse if I get in a bad position or cough and sneeze. Possum 60

I too am a nurse, new to the forum, and will be banded in six days. I have done some research and feel that you can lose big if you use the banding as a tool. PS- how do you get the cute graphics on your profile?
  4. Hi again. I get banded in six days. Not very nervous. I am planning (hoping) everything goes okay. My surgery is in Rochester, NY and requires an overnight stay. Two weeks on liquids and two weeks on mushies before any solids at all. Any hints or warnings? Possum 60
  5. Thanks for answering. I have been reading lots of postings and have a question. What is PBing? Is there a place to find abbreviations for stuff? This site really seems very supportive.

  8. I am really glad to hear from someone older than me that this is a GOOD idea! Thanks.
  9. Hi Everyone, I am 60 y/o and my surgery is scheduled for Oct 24. I have been reading pros and cons. I am really hoping my surgery has very few problems. Most of you seem to be doing really great:thumbup:
