LuluGirl70 got a reaction from SaraKayaComsin in Sleeve to Bypass due to REGAIN
I too am having revision surgery on 05/30 because I regained 200 lbs. yes, 200! It worked for me until it didn't and it seemed I gained weight no matter what or how little I ate so its time to do something different. I've had an endoscopy so we know what went wrong where with the surgery as a tool and I have had 14 years (12 as weight gaining) to examine my role in the failure of myself and my tool. I am determined not to make the same mistakes that I can control this time around. I am 53 and don't want to go into old age as a fat woman with a bad knee limited in how i live my life.

    1. Who moved my car seat back? Oh, nobody. My butt is smaller and I'm sitting further back.
    2. What? Do gold necklaces stretch? Oh, no. My neck just got smaller and now the chain looks longer.
    3. Painting my own toenails.
    4. Fitting in most any chair.
    5. Not worrying about getting stuck in chairs with arms.
    6. Not worrying about a chair breaking (mostly outdoor chairs). Been there, done that.

Here are just a couple of the silly things that have made me smile the last couple weeks:
    1. I can buy cute underwear that are not made out of white flour sack material.
    2. I can put on my socks in the morning with out making strange sounds and grunting.
    3. When getting dressed to go somewhere the first thing out of my mouth is NOT "does this make me look fat!"

I’ve noticed that I have already been able to handle the heat a little better in south Florida after 30 pounds. Granted it’s not summer weather yet and I won’t lose it fast enough to be able to handle it this year but next year I should. You reminded me of that because my husband lives outside and in the summer I rarely see him cause it’s just too hot for me.

Being able to help my husband build our new fence. I wouldn’t have been able to help much a year ago. Not sure if this is really a good thing ??

I also love being able to fold into smaller spaces.

Today I had an unexpected and surprisingly satisfying NSV. I noticed that my belly button shrank. It's about 50% shallower than it used to be! Who knew I would be so pleased about less depth to my belly button? ?

LuluGirl70 reacted to Emme M. in Sleeve to Bypass due to REGAIN
Update- I had my revision from VSG to bypass on 2/7. As of today I’ve lost 33 pounds. I lost 13 prior to surgery so it is definitely coming off much slower this time. I seem to stall out for a couple of weeks at a time and then lose. This surgery was the hardest thing I’ve ever done and I’m worried this is all I will lose. I have a torn meniscus in my knee and really need this weight off. Of course it is affecting me working out. Going for a gel shot for it today.

I read an article that stated that revisions mainly work for those that the original sleeve was done incorrectly. Which is why many surgeons warn their patient that they will likely only lose about 40 lbs. While that may be true, you have a wonderful tool to help you continue to get healthy, and if you stay within the guidelines, for at least 80% of the time, your weight WILL come off. Keep hydrated, don't drink till at least 30 min later, protein first, eat healthy, keep in touch with your team during stalls.
