  1. I know a lot of people say they are able to work the next day but I personally wasn't ready. I had my surgery on a Friday morning and (I am a student) only attended four hours of class on Monday. Your body feels tired and I personally was most comfortable sleeping sitting up, so I slept on my sofa. I am not sure if it was because of the sofa or what but I didn't feel as rested when I would wake up in the morning. I also experienced alot of gas pressure so I was walking around alot. I know everyone's experience is different but I would really reccommend waiting a day or two. Good luck with surgery and enjoy the weight loss!!!
  2. Mrs. Bubba, I am glad to hear you're doing well with the band... good luck and I hope your pain subsides as you heal!!!
  3. Hello all I got banded on Sept 5 in Houston. I am feeling great and can't wait to go shopping in a few months!!!
  4. Just to let you know I was banded on Sept 5, I didn't have an infection just some post nasal drip (yuck) so I went ahead with my surgery. It was not fun coughing after surgery. I know some else said this but Sept 24 will be here faster than you realize and you won't have to worry about coughing with a sore tummy! Good luck!!
  5. Hello All Thank you all for all your support and answers. My life is a little crazy since I still haven't been able to return home so I hadn't been able to log on for a few days. Well I now think the pain was muscle soreness, I took some pain meds and slept on the recliner the night the pain was really bad. The next morning I didn't have a constant pain but I could feel some tenderness and soreness when I moved certain ways. I think I couldn't tell what the pain was earlier because it had elevated over past day. The tenderness lasted two more days (but only when I moved certain ways, not constant pain) but now I am really feeling good. Thanks to you all again.
  6. I just took some pain meds so we will see how it works. My port is by my band... upper, center part of my torso. I will keep you all posted to see what happens. Thank you for your quick responses.
  7. I have really tried not to lift anything more than 15 pounds I do feel it is more likely gas but I am just getting worried because it's been the same pain for a day and I am not sure how to get rid of it.
  8. I was banded on 9/5/08 and started to experience a pain in my upper, left ribcage area a day ago. It especially hurts when I take a deep breath or cough. My doctor and I are from Houston, I am currently evacuated due to IKE and am worried my doctor won't be available over the next few days. I have tried some Gas-X, walked, drank some hot tea, removed my bra and no relief. Has any one else felt this and how can I fix it????
