  1. Hi Teri, I was banded one day after you! You have done fantastic with your weightloss. I am interested in what your "bump it up" thing is all about! Shannon
  2. I'm in McDonough also and am so dissappointed I missed the meeting. Is there a possibility of another one anytime soon?
  3. Hi Debbi, I teach middle school chorus music and was banded on Sept. 17. I've lost 25lbs so far. Where are you in your process of getting banded?
  4. Hi, I had my surgery on Sept. 17th by Dr. Huacuz in Mexico. I was very happy with him and the facilty. I am a bit frustrated now because I'm having some issues and wish I was able to see him. What will you do if you have complications. Do you have a doctor here that will see you? I live in McDonough, GA and would love to keep in touch and be a support system for each other. Shannon
  5. Thanks for the reply! Is the aleve in liquid form? scraig
  6. I'm also one week out (9/17) and am having alot of pain like you described in what I'm assuming is the port site. I would love to hear from others that have gone through this to find out if it is normal? I had my surgery in Mexico and am done with the pain medicine I was given. I am taking liquid Tylenol but it is just not cutting the pain. Does anyone have any advise or words of encouragement that this is all just part of the recovery process or should I be worried?
  7. It's done...I'm banded and back home resting after two nights in the hospital in Mexico. I'll be honest and tell you that the the plane ride back today was very long and very uncomfortable. I didn't get my pain medication taken early enough and had nothing to eat from about 10:30am on. Thank goodness I'm now resting comfortably at home. I enjoyed a soothing cup of chicken broth and a glass of apple juice. :)Good luck to all of those still waiting to be banded.
  8. Hi shortgal, I noticed you had your band removed 8/5. Would you mind sharing why? I'm one day away from my banding surgery and having second thoughts. The idea of having to pay to put it in and then again to have taken out makes me wonder if I should do this at all. Any words of encouragement?
  9. My surgery is also on the 17th and I will return to work on the 22nd. I teach middle school and see 300 plus students a day. I'm sure it will be fine but I'm preparing myself to be get very tired.
  10. Hello! I'm going to have my lapband surgery on September 17th. Yikes...it's just days away! I'm very excited but apprehensive and scared too. Would love to stay connected with you guys! Anyone from Georgia?
