  1. Karen, what I've learned is that to really see a change in your diabetes which I had depends on the weight you've lost. I still suffer from high cholestral due to it being genetic and because if this gen I have to work harder; exercise more by walking a minium of 3 miles per day and watch what I eat. The band just allows you to eat less. You can still eat whatever you want the key to the band is discipline your eathing habits and exercise. You need to consult with your doctor concerning blood clots .....I hope everything works out for you! I lost 130lbs in 1 year due to the lapband with no complications! Donna from Birmingham.
