cut.the.VS reacted to summerseeker in Didn’t go as planned!I didn't have issues with the surgery but had the same because of Pneumonia. To make matters worse I was abroad with a language barrier. I had to learn to sit, stand, walk and feed myself again. Even talking was difficult because of all the time the ventilator was in. I was in hospital 5 months. I had a long time to think about things. It was very tough on my family.
So with bariatric surgery you get the natural regret for the first weeks of recovery because its a massive new learning curve and then you have all this other stuff that has happened to you, and oh boy its scary. Give yourself time to let your brain process what has happened to you. Yes it was a lot BUT you have survived. You cant go back and change your actions so look to the future and embrace every new day you have been given.

cut.the.VS reacted to Arabesque in Concerns about Weight lossThis too will pass. Stalls are a normal & important part of your weight loss. It’s when your body shuts down & takes time to reassess your new needs because of the weight you’ve lost. It resets your digestive hormones & enzymes, your metabolism, etc. You’ll start losing again when your body is ready. Just stick to your plan.
If the non moving scale makes you anxious, I agree, put it away while in a stall. Try taking some body measurements every couple of weeks instead as many see a reduction in body measurements during a stall.

cut.the.VS reacted to NettyD in Newbie hereHello all, I’m a newbie too. My seminar was on 1/27 and my first consult was on 1/31/23. Maybe we will get the surgery around the same time? How was your appointment? -

cut.the.VS got a reaction from summerseeker in Newbie here@nettyd My consultation went well. He went over my health history. I currently have hypertension and taking 2 meds for it. So I have to see a cardiologist next month. I have to do an at home sleep study as well. I have to take a class called baratric beginnings on March 20th. We also discussed my goals and realistic expectations with vsg. He answered every last one of my questions, comments, and concerns. How did it go for U?

cut.the.VS got a reaction from summerseeker in HELLO EVERYONE. EXCITED NEWBIE HERE!Summer 2022...I started researching, or should I say, obsessing over all things VSG. I was watching YT and researching doctors. In Nov I had a consultation with Dr Lee from Birmingham, AL. I decided to go with self pay. As far as health goes I have high blood pressure. I was informed I needed to submit my labs and clearance from my PCP. I was unaware of how fast I could have the surgery done. I have not set a date because my PCP told me my insurance would cover the procedure. I was referred to Dr Copperwheat in Georgia. I have my seminar with him tomorrow. I honestly don't want to go through the rigorous process with Medicaid but I can keep my 10995 in my pockets!!
