  1. LOL!!! I was thinking the same thing! "Wow, he looks like he's doing exercise...wait, no he doesn't. He's just gotta use the bathroom!"
  2. Yea! If you come to NC, I'll join you both for an adult beverage! mmm BBQ makes me
  3. yea....scratch that post, i totally misread what you said LOL
  4. I don't hate anyone! And I only feel strongly about Duke and UNC fans, because I'm an NCSU girl and those are our rivals!
  5. Yup, and tonight they just announced that it is officially being called a murder, and the boyfriend is officially named a suspect since he didn't show up for work today. A DOOKIE is what we call the Duke fans! I'm an NC State Wolfpack fan, and she's a UNC Tarheel fan, since we both live in NC. Anything is better than being a Duke fan!
  6. yea, i really don't like "Newvembers" at all i went ahead and chose Notorious Novembers for myself. i already have it in my siggy...please don't be mad!
  7. Great, I'm so glad you're feeling better! I'm going to be such a pansy when I get my surgery. I'll take as much pain medicine as they give me! I'm a wimp when it comes to pain - which is why I'm deathly afraid of childbirth!
  8. In the Cooper case, the husband hasn't been named a person of interest or a suspect by the police just yet, but the consensus of everyone in the media and the community is that the husband is the guilty one based on all the information that's been released in the warrants and such. This morning they updated the case in my neighborhood, saying they still aren't ruling it a homicide, but that the woman's boyfriend is missing and he has apparently stolen her car - so I guess we know where that case is going. As of 12p today, the house is still roped off with Crime Scene tape. I still can't believe that house is literally 100 yards from my house, door to door. Go Wolfpack!! Shelbi, I'm shocked and appalled that you would pull for the Tarheels. However, since I liked you before I knew your sports orientation, I guess I can let it slide. But you are right - anything is better than being one of the Dookies!!!
  9. Wow, congrats on all your NSV's!! I know you must be thrilled. That hummus from TJ sounds so.... :w00t: I must try it. Sounds to me like hummus is a good thing when you're banded, because it goes down easy. I guess it's pretty healthy, yea? OMG Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back. What a weakness! I look forward to the Fall for three reasons: cooler weather, Pumpkin Ale, and Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I'm done for. Good thing I'm getting band in November! OH YEA! Did you see my new colorful siggy??!! The people over in the November thread wanted Notorious Newvembers, but I said that was too weird-sounding. So I sort of chose Notorious Novembers, whether they like it or not. I hope they don't get mad at me! :mad2:
  10. Hey buddy! We are alive and well this morning after TS Hanna knocked on our door last night. I guess we got a lot of rain, but to be honest, I heard the wind blowing twice - and that's it. It wasn't nearly as bad as they were predicting! I certainly was around for the Floyd/Fran era. That was my freshman year of HS! We had a huge tree in our front yard get uprooted and thrown into the front of the house, breaking several windows and ripping down our front porch. So Hanna was NOTHING like Fran. In other more disturbing news, a woman was found dead this morning in a house in our neighborhood. I could throw a rock and hit that house, it's so close! The police haven't said it's a homicide yet, but they're on the hunt for the husband, who has somehow gone missing... This of course comes just two months after a woman went missing and was found dead only two miles from here. I'm sure anyone in NC has heard of the Nancy Cooper case. Here's hoping this new death doesn't turn out to be as bad as that case has been! Cheers everyone, I'm off to enjoy a college football game. Go Wolfpack!!!
  11. When are you getting your band? And where? You should put all that fabulous information in your signature! I am flying to CO on a Tuesday, getting banded on Wednesday, and flying back on Friday. I am going back to work the following Thursday, so I'll be going back on Day 7 post-op. I am in an office and sit at a desk all day, with the exception of the occasional trip to the printer/fax machine. Hopefully I'm taking enough time off! Good luck, and keep us posted!
  12. You're a lot stronger than I am. When I saw the mandatory 18 month doctor-supervised diet in my insurance paperwork, I immediately said "NO WAY" and approached my husband about self-pay and taking out a loan. I'm a wimp! Actually, I just know how miserable I am right now, and the thought of waiting another 18 months just to get approved for surgery is enough to send me spiraling into a deep and dark depression. Once I decided I wanted the band, it was a 'now or never' kinda thing.
  13. WOOHOO today's your day! Happy Banding!! Let us all know how it goes.
  14. Great! You ladies just made me LOL at work. Now everyone is looking at me expecting me to forward them some funny email I've just read. What would they think if I sent them this? :tongue2::tt2: 747 Bat wings and deflated Mrs Doubtfire boobs. HAHA!! Happy Friday everyone! Pray for me - Tropical Storm Hanna is on her way to NC!
  15. OMG I just choked on my water! :tt2: LOL
  16. oooh yes, i've already told my husband - after we have kids, he's gettin' my girls LIFTED and ENLARGED! i'm going to have big and perky girls until the day i die! :tt2:
  17. Thanks! Trying to save every penny possible, so I'll check it out both ways. And my husband travels a lot for work, and usually stays at a Hampton or a Holiday Inn, so he can earn points if we stay there! :tt2:
  18. Oops, I guess that's important! My surgery is at Parker Hospital. Dr. K's people gave me a list of hotels that do medical discounts, but if I book flight/hotel/car all at once in the same package, I'll probably get a bigger discount ya know?
  19. I'm looking online for flight/hotel/car packages, and there are OODLES of hotels in the Denver area. I'm just wondering, for all you out-of-town Dr. K patients, which hotel did you stay at? Do you think it's better to be closer to the airport or closer to Dr. K's office? I anticipate wanting to get out and do some walking the day after my surgery, possibly at a mall. Any help is appreciated! 61 days and counting.... :crying:
  20. A "troll" is someone who comes onto a message board or forum (such as this) and says things to deliberately provoke people and cause drama. Often times they don't even believe what they're saying, and are simply trying to stir things up a bit and cause a frenzy of posts to be made. I guess they derive pleasure from seeing lots of people swarm in to say how wrong they are, how uninformed they are, etc. They just like the attention, however negative it may be. This person's posting style and appaulingly bad run-on sentences tell me he's just a troll looking to get a rise out of other bandsters.
  21. Gooooood morning my [soon-to-be] fellow bandsters!!! Is it November yet????
  22. That has got to be the longest sentence I have ever read. Where'd you get your DDS, on Sesame Street??
  23. Yea, what they said! As a frequent Atkins dieter, I am familiar with it. Don't worry, after another week it should go away.
  24. Yay, I'm so happy to see you're doing well after surgery!! Keep us updated on your recovery. I guess you've got your own spot on the Loser's Bench now! I'll be joining you all in 62 days....
  25. I'm so glad I asked! PB'ing sounds like the absolute worst thing on the planet. Not looking forward to the experience...
