  1. It looks like Dr. Kim is one of the ONLY lap band guys in the area. He is not in my insurance-approved list, so i will see if my regular doc can request him. Thanks.
  2. I haven't been banded yet, but I know all about the sweet cravings. I will say that I have been amazed at how quickly I lost the sweet cravings when I strictly followed a South Beach plan. Took about 5 days, and then magically, I could look at candy or Cookies and think, nahhh, what else do I have? I just wasn't interested in them! Amazing! Of course, now I am a meat addict. So, good luck to you!
  3. Yikes! :wink2: I called Aetna and found out they will pay all but the $250 deductible! Wow. I better get a doc!
  4. Hi Anne, I haven't had lap band, but I am in Orlando, and I am researching lap band providers. Any suggestions? My Aetna policy says it will cover 50% but that still leaves a big bill. I am 61, male, BMI 52. Arrgghh! I saw a T-shirt the other day: "I wish someone would do something about how fat I am getting!" Cracked me up. Have you had the surgery yet? Jerry
  5. Hi - and good to you both. I am just beginning to research lap band, and it's good to know it isn't just for younger folks. My company's Aetna policy says it will only cover 50%,. I looked at the Insurance forum and it is encouraging.
