  1. Ladies - I was feeling the same way. Surgery 8/5 and only 20 lbs lost - couldn't seem to get past 20 - UGGHH. However, went shopping last night for a wedding on Saturday and guess what - I am down TWO dress sizes - thank goodness no one was in the dressing room cause I was making some noise!!! So just a reminder to everyone, the scale is not almighty... you are most likely losing inches - not just pounds. Keep it up everyone and don't loose the faith!
  2. The 5-year documentation is really easy, you just have to list all of the different diets you have tried and approximate dates of each. Very simple... It took me a little longer (4-5wks) to get my Fed MS BCBS approved but some of it was a delay at my docs office. I was banded on 8/5/08. The MS BCBS insurance process was actually very easy and even psych eval was paid for and my initial consult with the doc... Good luck!!
  3. Not sure if this helps anyone or not, but my doc suggests the Carnation Instant Breakfast with NO SUGAR ADDED and then add some dry non-fat milk to it for more protein vs. the Slimfast etc. I have found the box powder packets version and bottle version at Wal-Mart but the NO SUGAR ADDED is kinda hard to find sometime...you can add fruit etc to it too - I am having a hard times keeping my kiddos away from it too - they really like it
  4. Greetings - I am new to the group. Banded on 8/5/08 by Dr. Carroll. Haven't gone for my first fill yet but looking forward to it. Would like to connect with some bandsters from our area...
  5. I was banded on 8/5 and it took me about a week and a half to get over the soreness at the port area. You have to remember that they cut through some serious muscles there and that is why it hurts so bad. It is still sore this week I noticed while I was washing my hair in the bathtub and then sat up - still really tender. The swelling in your stomach has some to do with it too I think. The pain will start to subside. I promise. This past weekend was my first day to feel somewhat back to normal. Good luck to everyone.
