  1. I've only lost 2lbs since my surgery on 7/2/08. Iam getting depressed and disappointed with myself. I had my first fill 3 weeks ago and only thing I notice different is my food gets stuck more often. I do get full but I eat about the same amount as before the band. Iam thinking about asking my doc for some diet pills just to help me get started on losing. I just didn't think that would be a smart choice.
  2. I'll tell you a little secret. My insurance said I wasn't "fat enough" and needed to go weigh again. My doc's office said to wear heavy clothes but I had a better idea!! Of course it being June in Kentucky its very hot so I took my son's weights (10 lbs total) and put them in my purse. When it was time to weigh I kept my purse on my shoulder:thumbup:. I gave what the insurance co wanted! I was approved the same day.
  3. Before my fill I could eat chicken, but now since my fill it gets stuck. The bad thing was I was driving and eating. Good Luck
  4. Thanks guys!! I went for my fill yesterday and it went great! I did eat arbys roast beef and cheese an hour before and was full all night until today around 1:00 pm. I drunk my 8 oz of protien and had a 1/2 cup of pudding and it feels like I had a whole pizza!! Its a wonderful feeling and Iam now feeling better about my band. My doc wants me to stay on liquids for 2 days then eat 2 oz of food at a pea sized bites then if Iam still hungry 20 min later eat 2 more oz. I only lost 9 lbs since my surgery but thats fine, iam ready to get skinny for next summer!!!
  5. I had my surgery on July 2 and tommorrow I finally get my band filled! The doc didn't tell me what to do before the fill. All I know to do is to be on liquids on the first day. What did yall do the day of the fill and the day after, I need all the advise I can get!! Iam getting excited because I finally can get on the road to weight loss.$
  6. :sleep:I was banded on July 2nd 2008 and feel fine. I did get sick on July 12th and was placed back into the hospital with an infected colon but every since then everything (health wise) has been fine. I have noticed that I have no energery. My husband said that I was getting old. I don't want to get up or exercise. Would you call that lazy? I fall asleep on my husband everynight and sleep until noon everyday since I've been off. I don't even think I lost any weight yet and thats depressing me. Now Iam going back to work and everybody is expecting me to look different and I don't. I take my vitamins everyday but the only thing I don't do is the protein. Iam having a hard time drinking that nasty stuff!! Does anyone have any pointers for me to get off the couch and start living life again? I had this band done to make me feel better and so far its not working. Then on top of that I don't have my first fill until Aug 28th because the doctor is booked, and I still have to call that day because they couldnt give me a time to come in. I know things have to get better, I just need advise! Thanks
  7. Same here! Thought I was going crazy!! Makes me feel better that Iam not the only one out there.
  8. I was banded over a month ago and I do too have the left shoulder pain. Its not really bad but make me stop and think about it. I noticed when I have the pain its when I eat too fast or eat something sweet. Its werid.Hope that helps you out. ~Carmille
  9. I finally did it!! I was banded on July 2nd and it wasn't bad at all. I wish I did it last year. The only problem I had was on July 12 I started running a fever and thought my port site was infected. I called my surgeon and he said that was ok. I still felt bad so I decieded to go to the er. My temp was 102 and blood pressure was 158/108. They admited me and ran several test. Come to find out I had an infection in the first 6 in of my colon. My surgeon thinks it was caused by the antibotics they gave me during surgery faught away bactria that my body needed. That was weird but I feel better. I have no restriction which is not good but I will get my first feel Aug 28th. Whats bothering me is that I havent lost much weight. But iam glad iam now about of the the band!!$
