kk8448 got a reaction from SuziDavis in 3 rd after surgerySleep as much as possible!! Liquid Tylenol was the only pain med I could tolerate, highly recommended. It will get better! The first 2 days I was like omg what did I do?! I’m a month in now and not regretting my decision. -
kk8448 got a reaction from Macinda in 3 rd after surgeryAlso make sure you get up and walk every few hours, tremendously helps with the pressure and bloating! -

kk8448 reacted to kcuster83 in Two monthsI officially hit 2 months post-op Saturday.
Just a few fun shares.
I have lost 48 lbs since surgery!!! (84 total)
I had to move my the seat up in my truck.
My knees do not grind as I walk up steps anymore.
My blood pressure is on the LOW side of perfect.
All of my clothes are too big, way too big.
My shoes are loose/roomier.
I am so amazed at how quickly our bodies change. But, what amazes me the most is how we (at least me) don't even notice as it slowly changes for the worse but EVERY SINGLE TINY thing stands out when it is changing for the better.
I had 2 cookouts this weekend and it didn't even phase me.
At my family cookout, I made avocado salad (avocado, peppers, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, olive oil, lime juice, garlic) I ate this and grilled chicken breast with regular BBQ sauce on it. (Everyone there knew I had bypass, the only question I got was "What can you eat now" I said, anything, my SIL said ok cool.
At my friends cookout, I ate 2 deviled eggs and 2 of the tiny party size meatballs. Then I picked some cucumber out of the pasta salad. (No one knew I had bypass, no one questioned my tiny plate of food)
I was satisfied at both and had no urge to munch.
I have zero complaints, zero regrets.

kk8448 reacted to Tufflaw in BMI below 30!Weighed in this morning and realized my BMI has dropped below 30, so officially "overweight" instead of "obese"! Don't really feel any different but wanted to share.

kk8448 reacted to NewlyReborn in 3 rd after surgeryI had mine Tuesday. I had the feeling also. It will get better. Just take it one day at a time. I think of it as a new birth a new beginning. You just have to retrain you body how to eat and your mind how to think. It would also help to get some therapy and an accountability partner. God bless you on your new journey.

kk8448 reacted to fourmonthspreop in First post op dateGoing on my first post op date. I haven't dated in 2 years. I am already picturing all the weird things I have to do around food with him. He offered to cook me a pasta dinner and I had to say no LOL so we're going to a smoothie place instead. I looked up the menu and they have unsweetened tea and coffees so I'll be fine but omg how does one explain it?
Anyway, wish me luck! And feel free to share your post op date stories too

kk8448 reacted to Tony B - NJ in To count or not to count (calories)I am still after 9 months counting my calories and logging my exercise. I am too afraid to stop because I do not want to end up eating more than I think I am eating.

kk8448 reacted to abandster in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first1. Who moved my car seat back? Oh, nobody. My butt is smaller and I'm sitting further back.
2. What? Do gold necklaces stretch? Oh, no. My neck just got smaller and now the chain looks longer.
3. Painting my own toenails.
4. Fitting in most any chair.
5. Not worrying about getting stuck in chairs with arms.
6. Not worrying about a chair breaking (mostly outdoor chairs). Been there, done that.

kk8448 reacted to chiquitatummy in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstToday I had an unexpected and surprisingly satisfying NSV. I noticed that my belly button shrank. It's about 50% shallower than it used to be! Who knew I would be so pleased about less depth to my belly button? ?
