  1. Hi, I feel what you are going through. I also am I self pay and I am going to be banded next month. First off, I don't think you offended anyone. They just probably didn't feel they could help you. Second, I probably can't help either, but I have thought your thoughts to a degree. I want to lose 90 lbs. All my life I could diet and lose 50, then gain it back over the next several years. But, 1 year ago I dieted and ate right and exercised like crazy and didn't lose a pound. I am looking at this like it is another tool that will help me overcome some barriers and then help me keep it off when I reach my goal. How many times have you lost weight and then gained it back? Sure you can still do that with the band, but the reminder not to slip up will be there and that will help you stay stronger and on track. Losing weight can be the easy part, keeping it off is what counts though. Hope this helped a little.
  2. Hi, I am still waiting to for my banding next month bt I am no stranger to working out and injuries. Let's think.....how comfortable are you on a stationary bike? I know my butt hurts aftr 20 minutes or so, but it is a good cardio/fat burning exercise. Resistance bands could help. Do you belong to a gym? Is it possible to get a membership at a YMCA or something? They usually have some pretty good programs to help you find a way to work out without injuring yourself. Good Luck!
  3. Hello, I finally decided that my health was important and to give up on the Insurance company and just pay for the procedure myself. It's a chunk of savings, but if I didn't do it I wouldn't be around to spend it anyway. So I made the appointment and I go in next month. I am very excited about it. Like most others I have been doing the up and down yo-yo stuff. Everytime I try again it gets harder and harder. My life is passing me by. I am having my surgery in Scottsdale, AZ at the True Results clinic. I am just so excited I don't know what to do with myself!
