  1. I didn’t lose anything the first 11 days after surgery. I’m now 8 months post op and down 101.5 pounds. It just takes time. Hang in there!
  2. Same here. I lost three pounds last month. Three! I feel like I’m losing inches though. I think the three pounds was all of the hair I’ve been losing! Here’s to ending the stall in 2023!
  3. I just hit 50.5 pounds lost total, 36.4 since my bypass. I feel like my weight loss is slow but oh well. Nausea is finally waning and zero dumping! My taste buds have changed dramatically and I crave savory foods over sweet. My labs are great and my A1C is 5.1. It’s never been that low! Feeling pretty good!
  4. Hey everyone! I’m a week post op! I had to stay an extra day in the hospital because the nursing staff wasn’t sure what I was supposed to be doing. Doing pretty well but I’m ready to move out of the liquid stage. I was up 11 pounds from my pre-surgery weight when I got home and still three pounds over today. I’m hoping I can have some puréed food soon. I’m over protein shakes!
  5. I know exactly how you are feeling! I’m on day two of my pre op diet and I feel physically sick. I just laid in bed and cried. My poor husband thinks I’m insane but is being very supportive. At least we’re not alone in this! Hope we both adjust and start feeling better!
  6. I’m 48 and I say I’m starting the second half…lol. Better late than never!
  7. You can only absorb 30g of protein at a time so adding any additional protein is a waste per my dietician. Maybe try protein water?
  8. I’m August 1st as well! I start my liver shrinking diet on the 22nd. I only have to do three days of liquids thank goodness. It is soooo exciting!!!
  9. Thank you for your encouraging words. It sounds like you’re recovery is textbook fantastic!
  10. Hopefully this date sticks. The waiting must be horrible!
  11. My surgeon told me it could be 7-10 days between bowel movements. I would keep an eye on what they look like but they are going to be weird at first. Hang in there!
  12. My date is August 1st! So excited to start this new journey. My required insurance visits were three months long as well.
  13. I have been eating like crazy waiting for my insurance approval. I know my relationship with food isn’t great. I’m pretty sure I’m a sugar addict! I know how you feel and I’m not backing out either. I know things are going to change but feeling better is my goal. I feel downright awful with the weight I’m carrying. Portion control is the name of the game and I think chewing slowly helps me enjoy food better. Good luck with your surgery!
  14. I wanted to add my surgery info to my profile since I got approved today! I’m still waiting for the scheduling call but super excited! Any help is appreciated.
