Anyone getting banded in Nov?
You may be experiencing pain from swelling around the band or it could be from the tube down your throat(intubation) to help you get enough oxygen during surgery.

New Here, Banded Awhile Ago, Starting Over
Naw! He won't yell if he's a professional. Just be honest with the doc about your eating habits and the struggles you're experiencing.

Unfill
Did he say it might be a slip, dilation, GERD? Any ideas?

Food Ideas For Beginners
I ate a lot of egg drop Soup. It's rich and has a lot of Protein so it's filling. Also, refried Beans with little cheese. I make my own but canned is good too. oatmeal, Soups with lentils or soft veggies, If you start your own topic you should get a lot of response. It's always been a popular topic. Or go to the band forums section and there's a thread already there for foods we eat.

Rice is ok for me but I've read so many people who get stuck on rice. It seems to gum up the stoma.

I didn't explain well. If I go back and try to edit a post with a quote in it, the quote may disappear or move in the comment board.

I've had employers who have programs within their servers that block sites like BP. Especially banks or healthcare companies.

Soooo Frustrated--Uhc Vs. Dr
Never give up. I went through 3 different insurance companies before I finally got approved. Took about 1 1/2 years. I was covered under my wife's policy and the first policy covered it but wanted a 6 month nutrition program. That took me beyond Dec 31st 2010 and the employer dropped that policy completely. Her new policy covered it but then she left that employer in March of 2011 for another job. Fortunately the new job covered the surgery but needed a 6 month nutrition counseling again. Sucks don't it?

Alex, OK here's another issue but you're probably aware of it. When we quote someone the original quote gets erased or eliminated.

I Love You Band, But You Got's To Go!
Your issue is a concern many, if not all of us, shelter in a secret part of our minds. tmf

Food Ideas For Beginners
What phase do you want to cover? Post surgery? Mushies? Solids? 30 days post op? If you're cleared for solids we all eat whatever we want. The band can tolerate most all foods but as your band is tightened with fills you may find some foods like breads, dry chicken, red meat, rice etc are hard to tolerate? Not always and not every Bandster has problems with foods. I don't have problems but my band is not real tight either. Otherwise, it's a trial and error for most of us? Most of us just stick to healthy foods and stay away from slider foods like ice cream, Cookies, pizza, lasagna. But those foods are still OK if you count them towards your daily calorie intake. Good Luck.

New York Bariatric Group
If you go to the top of this page, click on the "Patiens" tab. Click on surgeons and find Hololver. Click on search patients again. There are quite a few but not many recent patients so not many follow the forum.

Getting A Fill...finally!
I'm right there with ya, except I didn't just pop out a kid. I'm trying to eat healthy as much as possible and since I know I can't succeed over the Holidays I'll wait till January 1st to buckle down and work off this last 25 lbs.

Needing A Jump Start
I'll be 2 years out on Thanksgiving day. I lost 50 but gained about 15 back now. I'm holding my own but it'll be an uphill battle between now and New Years. I guess I'm not real worried about this as I know what I need to do but I'm not going to tackle this till all the temptations are out of sight. Xmas is just too difficult a time for me to take on. Hope you're eating healthy?

Did you check with your doc? This isn't something I've ever seen on the forum before so maybe that's why no response?

OK, here's a bonus. I clicked on the "Patients" tab at the top of this page and then searched for patients of my surgeon and found 66 others who used my surgeon. Most are very old forum members but it's interesting to track(stalk ) other forum members who I have something in common with. tmf

New Forum Is (Not) So Sad!
I'm not sure what makes this new forum so uncomfortable but I just don't feel the love anymore. There's something detached about this site and I suspect others feel the same way. I seldom see any of the veteran posters posting any longer. I see fewer topics started and even then the topics have few replies which devalues the site altogether. What happened to the "Trending Topics" on the right side of the screen. And the blogs? Now I see very old topics with no reply. Why reply to a topic or a question posted 4 months ago? And it does seem like many of the forum members who relied on an IPhone app or a Samsung app have now wandered away or just can't navigate this site any longer. Sorry, I'm just venting. I see other WLS forum members crossing over and most are polite but seems like occasionally a new sleever or RNY'r pops in and posts some nonsense about the band. I'm sure it's the same on their forums where a Bandster posts some ill informed advice or information regarding surgery they know little about. This format seems to encourage this where the old format seemed to have a wall that most people respected. I'm done. Just sad to see an old friend(LBT) retire and be taken over by a new social media brat. tmf

Any other September 2013 bandsters?
You probably won't feel satisfied for 4 hours all the time till you get enough fills to give you that level of satiety. And even then it's normal to feel hungry if you eat slider foods in place of protein first. You said earlier, you're 7 weeks out but not eating all foods? Why are you not eating regular food? And it took many months of being banded for most of us to discern the difference between true hunger and cravings.
