  1. I got mine on August 7th. Got out of the OR at 9:30pm so I got to spend a night in the hospital. Used my morphine drip twice before I figured out it was makning me very nauseous. Tylenol was enough for the pain. I got on my riding mower and mowed my lawn Saturday (9th). I am in absolutely no pain now unless I lay on my port (left side of abdomen). I'm going to work tomorrow. Mike
  2. I had mine installed Thursday. The pain was very bearable. I had worse pain when I had tendonitis in my elbow. They put me on a morphine drip, but I only hit it a couple of times before I realized it was making me nauseous. I was only using it to be able to sleep. Was sent home the next day and I have only used two of my percocet tablets. Tylenol is enough for me. Thie first two days your stomach muscles want to tense up. You have to keep stretching to prevent this. Other than that, there is no other pain now three days out. I have discovered that I cannot belch. The air bubbles get stuck in the stoma and never make it up. So it all goes south to the other end. Oh yeah. I sat on my riding mower and mowed my lawn Saturday. Mike

    Protein shakes?

Regular Slim-Fast shakes are loaded in sugar (40gm). If you were told you can have the atkins shakes, then you can have the slim-fast shakes that are titled Lo-Carb, The high Protein ones will even be okay, but not for every meal. I like to make my own shakes with fat free - sugar free soy milk (vanilla), whey Protein (25gm protein per scoop), and either a banana or a peach. Put them in a blender and puree it. You an try other fruits and flavors.
