  1. I am going to be banded on Sept 12 at Great Lakes Weight Loss in Detroit, MI. I was wondering if anyone knows what the typical work/lifting restrictions are? I work at a chemical company in Michigan and have a very physically demanding job, typically lifting 50lbs repeatedly everyday, on/off forktrucks, lots of stairs, bending and twisting. I also have a 33lbs 2 year old that I'm kind of leary about how I'm going to deal with him post op also. Any suggestions or help would be great! I'm getting very excited....
  2. I get the idea of why you would want your liver smaller before the surgery, because it would make it easier for the surgeon, etc. But how do they decide that yours is too big/enlarged and you need to be on liquids days or weeks before your surgery? Is there a test or xray that they use to see how big it is? I plan to have my band in the next two months. I am self pay and have no health issues, except that I'm overweight.
  3. New here and this is my first post. I have been reading and learning a lot from the other posts about every aspect I can think of concerning the lap band surgery. I have just pulled together the money for my surgery. I have insurance, but it doesn't cover. I plan to have my pre-op consult sometime in the next month and schedule the surgery shortly after that. I will be using Great Lakes Weight Loss in Michigan. The price is right! Hope to be thinner by next summer:biggrin2:
