SJohnson611 reacted to GradyCat in 1 Year Post OP and I think I am alcoholicMy heart goes out to you. Please find a new better counselor that'll help you and keep regular two week appointments or something to stay in check. Check with your insurance plan to see if they cover addiction recovery programs. I suffer from Clinical Depression and Anxiety Disorder, so I know about using food to mask/treat my problems and while that's not alcohol like you're talking about (I don't drink) it's a similar "addiction" and coping mechanism. I take antidepressants and participate in regular counseling.

SJohnson611 got a reaction from StratusPhr in Protein Intake A StruggleDoes anyone have any suggestions for protein intake struggles? I have a very hard time getting protein shakes down. I know I need them and I find myself becoming super anxious when it’s time to drink them. -

SJohnson611 reacted to ClareLynn in Protein Intake A StruggleI do better with “thin” shakes that don’t have thickeners. I’m able to sip much more often that way.
I’ve also had lots of success with protein jello from bariwise and mixing unflavored protein into jello pudding to get extra protein in. -
SJohnson611 reacted to Smanky in Protein Intake A StruggleHave you tried protein water? I hit an absolute wall with protein shakes and could not stomach another mouthful, and switched to protein water which has been a lot easier. It's far from perfect, and I still feel it's the most punitive part of my daily intake, but I can easily get them down.
