That’ll fade! Im only 5 months out and all my “early stage” cravings are completely gone. The first 4-8 weeks I felt devastated because I was convinced my surgery “didnt work”. I was craving food CONSTANTLY, being obsessed with watching tiktok junk food compilations and wanting to eat so bad. I havent had junk food or what we typically would consider “bad” food but I have had pieces of food I had glorified in those weeks (guacamole, fried egg, chocolate protein yoghurt) and I hated it. Your taste buds change. Your priorities change (because you know you can only take a few bites). And ultimately you change. It’s hard to believe now (and when people told me “back then” I wasn’t convinced either. I thought “yeah yeah except I’m different!”. But here I am now writing this) but trust me. Hang in there. Sit it out. Stick to your diet. Trust the process. I have faith in you!

I'm both a slow loser, and a serial staller. I've lost weight post-surgery at the same rate I did when I tried the old-school calorie counting. I've never had the "honeymoon period" folk on here talk about. I've lost count of how many stalls I've had, and have just this week finally broken another three week stall of zero weight loss. Like you, I follow my plan to the letter, do regular exercise, and know I eat at a large calorie deficit.
So I absolutely know how you feel!
But as The Greater Fool said - you cannot compare yourself to others, and you cannot let yourself be ruled by the scale. The weight IS coming off, and if it's coming off slower, that's not a bad thing! With luck my slow rate will give my skin the best chance of bouncing back. The trick is to enjoy your own journey without worrying about others, and to celebrate your own little milestones and victories. Because they're happening.

Are you on anti nausea meds ? I have been told we may need them for a year. In the early weeks lots of us have buyers remorse a few weeks in and then as soon as we can begin eating more normally things improve. Being tearful is normal, we think we have ruined our life for a while. Hang in there, give yourself a big hug, we promise you that soon things will improve. I used to nibble on tiny slivers of cheese and these helped with the queasiness and it tasted heavenly. I had such a filthy taste in my mouth all the time. No amount of tooth brushing helped. Just do what you have to so you get through this healing stage

Yup. I'm one of those on here who was/is in a longer stall. I weighed in at 241.2 on Oct 25th then nothing for months!!! I would hover above that lowest number for months, just like you. Somewhere between 5 and 7 lbs over. I finally contacted my nutritionist in December and provided her my food logs and she said that I was being very inconsistent with my protein and was making a few other mistakes too. So she had me stick to around 800 cals, 50 grams of carbs and keep my water intake up. So I did what she suggested (although some days I go up to around 1200 cals a day and a lil over the carbs but never over 75 grams) and the scale finally did move and I lost another 5 lbs. But I'm sorta at a stall again but I personally think the problem is due to lack of exercise now (since I'm still eating/drinking the same). I did none the entire month of January as my time was occupied fixing up my shed into a home gym. But I also think, for me, upping my protein to almost double worked too. 60-70 grams just wasn't enough and it wasn't until I upped it to double that that the scale moved again.
So yeah, if you're not logging food I highly suggest you do and then contact your nutritionist and tell her what's going on. She/he will most likely be able to see where you're making mistakes and help you fix and adjust them. Best of luck!

I had RNY April 13th 2021… I set a goal in my mind of 100lbs and I would be happy. Today, I weighed in at 179lbs. 9 months after surgery, I am down 101lbs.

No regrets, no complications, life is beautiful.

Just wanted to share with you all.
