  1. I was banded on 11/4/08. My incesions feel great, no nausea. But... when I had the post-op upper GI the tech really jostled me around. Now I have a terrible sharp pain in my left groin (very low) area. It doesn't seem to be related to the actual banding but I'm not sure. Did anyone else have this?
  2. Anyone from the Altoona support group?
  3. I'll be thinking about you. After all the effort we made to get to this far it would be silly for us to cheat now. Good luck!
  4. The diet you followed sounds like the same one I have. I'm going to stick to it no matter what. How are you doing now? Was the first couple weeks after surgey like?
  5. My Dr. gave a very specific diet for me to follow, protien shakes (2 per day), fresh fruit (3 small per day) 3oz lean meat (1 per day) and a salad w/balsamic dressing & unlimited no calorie drinks. I think it's going to be a long 2 weks. Good grief!
  6. After a lot of back and forth with the insurance company (9 months) I'm finally scheduled for the band on 11/4. I start the liver shrink diet tomorrow. I'm excited & nervous but mostly worried about getting through the next 2 weeks. Wondering what I'll feel like right after surgery, and how long until I can go back to work, (I have a sit down all day office job).
  7. My surgeon requires me to follow a "liver shrink" diet for the two weeks preceeding surgery. Anyone else doing this?
  8. I'm new to the site and want to say hi. Today was my surgery consultation, all the insurance stuff is done, I'm good to go. For months I couldn't make up my mind about banding or bypass, but today with encouragement from my hubby and information from my surgeon I finally decided on the band. Looks like I'll be scheduled for late August, and I'm excited!
