  1. BabyCat: I have had two episodes of PE's about 10 years apart. For the last one, I had to take the shots once a day until they stablized my Coumadin. I hate the shots. My doc suggested I have a filter placed before I was banded on 8/25/08 and I did. Had to go back on the shots for the banding, but got off of them quickly. I take Coumadin every night. The big problem for me is that you can't eat leafy greens, etc. on Coumadin and that really restricts what you can eat after banding. I miss my salads (Brocoli, not so much).
  2. I was banded on 8/25/08. I have had 2 fills and now have 2ccs in a 4 cc band. I know I have restriction now because if I forget to chew well, food gets stuck and I have some discomfort and PB. However, it doesn't seem like I have a pouch. I can still eat way too much as long as I chew really well. What does it feel like if you have a pouch? Why can I still eat sooo much? Any help is appreciated. Marsha
  3. I got my first fill yesterday and they only put 1.5 cc in. No restriction that I can tell. They did say I could start adding real food this week. I have now lost a total of 12 lbs. in the 4 weeks. MUSC is real conservative with fills and is VERY expensive. I am self pay.
  4. Well, I got banded on 8/25 - two weeks today. Had to go in today because incisions/stitches were giving me some trouble. I have lost 9 lbs. I still have soreness. I was told I could have some soft food and I am looking forward to that. Scheduled my first fill for 9/24.
  5. Well, I had my band put in on Monday. Came home yesterday. No real pain until last night. Started on my Lortab Elixir. Great stuff. Finally started 'tinkeling" again yesterday afternoon and a lot last night. Have been able to swallow my regular meds. This was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Just trying to get into a routine with the shakes, etc. Don't see doctor for 2 weeks. Hope I will have lost weight!!
  6. I'm getting my band on the 25th too. My doctor has no pre-op diet. I am kind of worried after reading about Fat Livers. Anyhow, let's keep in touch here. Marsha
  7. I am scheduled for lap band surgery August 4, 2008. Just wanted to start reading so I'm prepared. Marsha Charleston
