  1. Preop diet Day 2

Today was day 2 of my preop diet. I have been quite surprised at how things are going. Yes! I have been getting hungry, but I have not been craving anything and I have even cooked for my husband and son without wanting to sneak anything; but, this is only day 2. My stomach does these bumpy, rolling things in my stomach when I have the hunger pangs. I am thinking this could be gas in my stomach as well. I can't weigh, because my hubby hid my scales . I had made the comment the other night that I wanted to wait until the night before surgery. He told me today to wait until Friday. I think I can. When I was on my 3-month supervised diet I weighed EVERDAY. I do think that you can set yourself up for disappointment and discouragement by doing this. Because one's weight can fluctuate 3 to 4 pounds even from one day to the next, I found. With each passing day, I become more and more excited. I know the night before surgery I will be nervous, but I feel amazingly calm about it. I absolutely cannot wait until I feel good enough about myself that I will want to do everything under the sun with my hubby and son. It's hard to believe that almost a year later, I am almost at the point of surgery. Just 8 more days!! Wow!
  2. Where to start.

Well, let's see here. I guess I should just start at the beginning. I began my quest for lap band last July. I started the process by going to a seminar, actually two seminars by two different docs, in August and another in September. It has now taken about 8 months to finally get to my date!! It has been worth waiting for! I am so fortunate to have gotten approved so quickly and on the first time. I will be banded on July 7th. :rolleyes2:
