    The pain could be you releasing the gas that was used to provide better access to your stomach and intestines. As the gas leaves your body, it may cause pain in your shoulders. Shoulder pain following LAGB surgery is common, usually affects the left shoulder, and can in some cases last 5 weeks or more.
