  1. I was right where you are pre surgery.... Rest your mind....you are making the best decision possible for yourself. Pre Op and 3 weeks Post Op will be a challenge but you will be just fine. I am 16 weeks Post Op and down 57 lbs and my life has settled back into a predictable routine and I feel like a million bucks....you will not regret any of this and your Health will be improved 100%.
  2. I had a sore throat for about 3 weeks Post Op.....I found that warm decaf tea helped soothe my irritation but it will go away for sure.
  3. I was never a scale person......??????, clearly because I became clinically obese and getting sicker each year before my Gastric Bypass. I do weigh myself each day but I am not obsessed by it but it is good to measure progress which keeps me focused on my target weight goal and by getting off my meds & CPAP completely & forever. See as a tool, one of many in your toolbox to get healthy vs a device of shame.
  4. 9 weeks Post Op - Lost 45 lbs with 30 more to go....reduced my Blood Pressure medication dosage and reduced my CPAP PSI..... Feel great and able to workout on my eliptical for 30 minutes a day and still take 45 minute walks 5 times a week. Not quite clean yet with Blood Pressure meds but sober and feeling like I turned a corner after a 2 week plateau.
  5. 6 weeks for me today as well.....35 lbs and counting and so excited to he able to workout again.....on my way to target weight of -70 lbs and off my Meds of 20 years.
  6. 16 Days post Op and finally have more energy since starting puree phase. Down 33 lbs. in 33 Days and looking forward to when I can workout again. Measuring for and logging everything onto Baritastic App has been key to keeping track. I have had 4 days of successive bowl movements and feel like I am getting closer to "normal."
  7. Boogie, I had my RNY on August 23rd.....so 16 days post Op. My energy was very low for the 1st 10 days and getting better each day but still easily fatigued. I try and walk more each day and have made it to 30 minutes but then I am gassed. Stay the course....I found my puree stage has given me more food options and more energy. Premier Protein 325 ml shakes have really helped get my protein levels over 80 grams so I reco those if you don't have them.....2 per day but sip them slowly to get them down.
  8. I have had pureed Onions and Broccoli in mashed potatoes and they seems to settle nicely. I also pureed green onions in my scrambled egg and it too settled well.
  9. I lost 17 lbs pre surgery ( 14 days ) and have lost 17 lbs since surgery ( 16 Days ). I have hit my protein grams everyday but calories are between 700-1000 for the past 5 Days but it is my chronic fatigue that has me frustrated. I can barely walk for 30 minutes before I need to rest for an hour.
  10. I am.in my 3rd week and I too become easily fatigued to the point where I need to sit & rest. I like to be busy and I am surprised how long this has taken to get back to 60% let alone 100%.
  11. I found that Baritastic works best for food logging and tracking.
  12. I have the same Blood Pressure issues and on Day 3 and Day 6 I was so weak and lightheaded I could barely get off the couch.....I was able to get 60 grams of protein each day but was light on total liquids. Now on Day 9 and feeling better but still fatigued after walking or skimming the pool.
  13. Reach out to your Clinic or Surgeon.....bleeding is a concern.
  14. I had a scratchy throat until Day 5.....the ice should help reduce the swelling but it will get better......Day 3 was my low point and now Day 8 feeling less fatigued and lightheaded.
  15. Plain Greek Yogurt really helps and I puree & strain beef vegetable or chicken vegetable soup down to a broth in 1/3 cup to give me different tastes. My protein shakes also add calories as well.
  16. Day 8 and still a few days away from puree cycle......hanging in and was able to get 700 kcal and 78 grams of protein in yesterday.....best day so far.
  17. Go easy my friend......it takes some time to bounce back.
  18. My wife made Lentil soup.....I took a ladle and scooped 1/2 cup into blender and then strained it.....it was warm and filling and about 9 grams of protein......I am hoping this will get my energy levels up as I push to get over 700 kcal for the first time.
  19. I am Day 7 post RYN Op and I too am exhausted. I tire easily yet I have been able to get 70 grams of protein in and got over 600 kcal twice so far. I am hoping things improve over the next few days but feeling great sans fatigue.
  20. Day 6 - feeling no pain at all and getting 70 grams of protein mainly through shakes and plain greek yogurt. Puree & Filtered soups have helped mix it up but my energy level is very low.....tire easily after walking for 10 min. Going full pureed foods this Friday so maybe that will help.
  21. Good for you......how did it feel ? How is your energy level after 3 weeks ?
  22. Good reco.....I will grab some for week #2.
  23. Day 6 post Op RYN.......still on liquids ???????
  24. Sounds like good progress. Day 6 post RYN Op and feeling better but still low energy.
