Ah we’re surgery twins! You can do it! The first 3 days could be pretty rough but after that it’s smooth sailing. When my partner had vsg surgery 2 years ago, I did the 2 week preop diet with him; out of solidarity. Now that was rough! Now he’a doing it with me, but We’re lucky we only have to do it for a week!

Vsg scheduled for Sept 8…starting my liquid diet tomorrow!

I’m the SAME WAY! That’s why i’m stressing because I’m not in control of the outcome. I’ve been looking at my insurance website for days…just to see if any new claims popped up?

Ahh good to know… I’ll make a call to my surgeons office tomorrow to see the status of the approval. Thanks for responding!

Hi all! Soooo I’ve been browsing the forum and saw quit a few people getting denied for surgery, by their insurance. I’ve done all my clearances and even have my surgery date (Sept 8!), but i’m just waiting on the approval by insurance. My question is for the people that have been denied. Why were you denied by your insurance and did you submit an appeal? I’m 80% sure i’ll be fine …I just have the pre surgery jitters i guess ?

Hi all! Quick question for my VSG family that, are post op. How long did it take you guys to return to work? I just started a new job and they’re definitely ok with me being out, BUT being the control freak that i am, I don’t want to miss a lot of work and want to return asap. I know I need to listen to my body and go back when i’m fully comfortable, but i wanted to get some advice from people that I know has gone through, what I’m about to go through.

May I ask, why were you denied? That’s my fear. I’ve gotten all my medical clearances done and have my surgery date, but waiting for the ok from the insurance. I would hate to be denied when I've come so far.
