TSH1920 reacted to Wahinebythesea in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstAmen! I never wore high heels because balancing on the balls of my feet was painful - but 85 pounds later, it's not! I could run around in heels all day!

TSH1920 reacted to lvetere83 in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstI went clothes shopping with a friend today. Normally I wear a 22 or 24. Today I actually squeezed into an 18 in 2 different brands. I didn’t buy them, I think I’m 10-20 pounds away from that…but the fact that I get them on and my friend said I looked good, meant the world to me. I even got a few 2x shirts instead of the 3x I normally wear. But with that being said, I also did get a few 3x, due to the cuts being different. I’m on cloud 9! -
I went shoe shopping for dress shoes today... first time in a LOOOOOONG time I've thought of having anything but sneakers on my feet. I got 3 pair! And not only are they nice looking I went from a size 10 wide to a size 9 1/2 regular! And did I mention they felt nice? So excited to be able to wear nice clothes to work and match with nice shoes.

TSH1920 reacted to HeatherE in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstI can relate. I love buying beautiful high heels now instead of wide sneakers. Shoe shopping and clothes shopping are fun.

TSH1920 reacted to learn2cook in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstMy non-scale goal was to be able to work with special needs students in public school. It requires lifting and chasing, so even with credentials earned during shut down, no one would hire me. I got the job. I’m loving every minute of it! -
TSH1920 reacted to STLoser in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstOur house is in a culdesac at the bottom of a street that is about a half mile long, and we live at the bottom of that street down the hill, which is very steep the whole way up. It is a HUGE hill. I never could walk even partially up that hill without having an asthma attack or having to stop to try to catch my breath a million times. My son started school yesterday and I made a goal to walk every morning after I drop him off. I have wanted to conquer that hill for so long. Most people that walk in our neighborhood never go on that hill because of how steep it is, even the really fit people. Our culdesac is very quiet as a result lol. I didn't get to walk yesterday, so I started today. I walked completely up that steep half mile hill without stopping and was able to keep going around the rest of the subdivision, which is fairly flat compared to our hill. I can't believe I can do this now!
It feels so good to not have my weight holding me back anymore!

I am now below the maximum weight for modern office chairs, exercise equipment, and pool floats.

TSH1920 reacted to HeatherE in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstWe were out to dinner last night and my 8 year old told the waitress he orders adult meals and mom orders kids meals. The waitress said, “That’s because your mom is tiny.” Wow… it’s been about 100 years since I heard the adjective “tiny” to describe me!!!

TSH1920 reacted to STLoser in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstToday my family had a picnic/reunion at a state park that has a lot of trails. My son went with my aunt and cousins to check out a creek so I followed. The decided to walk the trail which was 3 miles. Now this is in the woods and hilly, rocky terrain, so I had no idea how different 3 miles is on a trail like that and it took us like 2 hours. It was also almost 100 degrees and very humid here today. I hiked that whole trial and I was never winded! I can't believe it.. I ended up getting 13,000 steps! The first time I went to my bariatric surgeon I was winded walking down the hall to his office. I just can't believe how good I feel! I have asthma and it was so bad before I lost weight and I wouldn't have been able to breathe with the exercise, especially combined with the heat! It's crazy!

TSH1920 reacted to Mariann812 in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstI am experiencing new NSV victories every day! ?
Yesterday, dh and I went to the beach…he has to find a new boat slip. I walked around the cutest little town (3000 steps) and did not have to sit and get my breath because of that damned hiatal hernia. ????
THEN, we went to the beach! On memorial day weekend I couldn’t take 3 steps without being short of breath. Yesterday we walked on the beach for 1 mile and I didn’t Have to stop at all. Additionally, usually on any walk prior to surgery, my heart rate would be 138 when exercising to my max, and now I only get to 116!
I am beyond thrilled! My surgeon told me I would absolutely be able to run again after recovering. ?

TSH1920 reacted to BigSue in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstPeople don't wait for me on the stairs anymore. Before I lost weight, if I was going up or down stairs and someone else was coming in the opposite direction, the other person would wait until I got all the way to the top or bottom because there wasn't enough room for both of us to pass. Now, when I'm on the stairs and someone else is going in the opposite direction, they often just keep on going.
Also, when I was big, it seemed like people would sometimes move over when they saw me walking down the hall -- sometimes practically diving out of the way as if I was going to mow them down (I really felt quite offended, TBH). That doesn't happen anymore, either.

TSH1920 reacted to lizonaplane in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstI just got a DEXA scan and my body fat % went from 51.6% a year ago to 35.9% today! I'm almost in a normal range (for my age, 23-33%). I just started working out with a trainer and he has given me body weight exercises, so hopefully that will help too.

Its sad really that people are like this I hope I am not one of them.

TSH1920 reacted to Mariann812 in Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go firstMy surgery was Wednesday 6/8.
Greatest non scale victory: I can breathe. 2/3 of my stomach was in my chest because of a massive hiatal hernia that caused me enormous discomfort BUT I just felt crappy and had no idea till after surgery that the hernia made me feel that way. -
