  1. Hey All, I am 7-weeks post op. No complications, no issues, extreme energy.. the works. I hate that I waited so many years to finally have this procedure. One drawback for me has been that my taste buds are so different. NOTHING tastes good to me. NOTHING. I could no longer swallow the protein shakes so I began making my own from scratch. After only a few swallows my new stomach is full and I find myself rinsing the remainder down the sink. I have tried my favorite dishes and foods of the past but the textures and taste will keep me slim and trim for the remainder of my life. I look at it this way: I have consumed more than a small nation during my lifetime of eating! I will not miss anything at this point! I am happy and grateful and determined to have a healthy remainder of life. The best to all of you on this journey!
  2. God Bless you dear! You will be just fine. I have lost 7 pounds since the surgery on Monday. I was 224 at surgery on the 10th of May. I am on liquids for THREE MONTHS! My surgeon is AGGRESSIVE! He wants me to get the maximum out this right from the start. I am pressing on. The goal ever before me! You will make it!
  3. Hello Guys and Gals, I had the VSG last Monday, May 10th, 2021 and my only regret is not having had the surgery so many years ago! I had a Lap Band done in April of 2010 which was a waste of time and energy. I had it removed during this sleeve gastrectomy as well as a hernia repair. There was so much scar tissue that the band actually broke in pieces as the surgeon was extracting it. There is a little piece left behind that will not cause me any problems. The EXTRAORDINARY result of this procedure is that I feel as if they injected me with a heavy dose of B-12 that will not quit! I am up and energetic and cannot get to sleep before midnight when my usual bedtime was at around 8pm! I don't know what to do with myself! I am up cleaning, reducing items that were just stored up in the house, EVERYTHING that I would normally just put off due to fatigue! I am so blessed!
