Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi all, For those of you still contemplating surgery just to say go for it. I was banded by Dr Chris back in September and have lost just short of 5 stone! I feel fabulous although I would ideally like to lose another 2-3 stone. I lost a stone of that weight prior to the surgery and it has been coming off steadily since. There are downsides....The pain the day after surgery is quite bad, but mangeable, and it does involve lots of will power. I only just (after 3rd fill) have good restriction so have had to really be strict with myself about what I have eaten in order to get slim. I am actually waiting to have some fill removed as have too much restriction abd have been on liquids for about 5 days. This is horrid and should be avoided! All in all though, I have absoultely no regrets about having the surgery itself or having it done in Belgium. I love my band! Good Luck x

Hi Mooster, Am not booked in as such as they were fully booked so have to get there for 11.30 and just wait. Could be a long old day! I was banded on 12th August in Brussels. Maybe see you in London! Hi Jackruss, I am too feeling hungrier by the day! And night too, in fact! Trying best to curtail my eating and managing okay but finding it tricky. Still, feeling fitter than felt in ages so can't complain! Take care x Hi EnglishRose, Glad to hear all is good. Looking forward to the day I can post fabulous full length pics of me of the world to view on facebook! lol x

Hi Jackruss and English Rose, Glad to hear you are both well and pleased with band. I am good too. Lost 31lb so far but starting to feel hungry a bit - weird though cos it's not like the pre-band hunger! Have booked fill for 18th September in London. At the moment I feel like I may not need this but I am sure this will change over next few weeks. I have tried a few new foods but I gather the less I know I can eat the less I will eat! Anyway, best go, Take care, xxx

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi all, Just to say that I asked Frederic when he visited the hotel about taking normal tablets as the soluble ones were making me gag. He said it's ok to take tablets as long as they are not too large. I have not needed much pain relief for band related pain but I have taken paracetamol for headaches since band with no problems. For those worried about band op - don't - I am a week post op and feel fine. Still som e slight but very manageable gas pain in chest area but that is all. This is far outweighed by the fact I have lost 22lbs in total and can now begin to imagine being slim. Yippee! Just wondered though....it says on info pack that blue stitch has to be removed. Do we have to go to GP for this? Anyway, stay positive all, XXx

Hi English Rose and Jackruss, Just to say hope all is well with you both. I am fine. No pain killers since retuning home and cuts healing well. Not feeling hungry at all and just managing to consume around 750-1000 cals a day but this is with some effort! Have strangley found that I am quite happy to watch my piggy husband eat whatever he likes which I would not normally be able to do! Have lost 18lb now but 12 of these were pre-surgery. I feel really happy to have had this opportunity and would definately recommend the Belgium experience to others. When are you both going for a fill? Do you know if we have to book far in advance cos I don't want togo before necessary as I feel that I need to learn self control as well as relying on the ban. My plan is that I never go above 1000 cals a day in whatever source this takes and regardless of restriction. Anyway best go, Glad to hear you both seem okay, everhopeful xxx

    Protein shakes?

Hi, Just wondered if you know why not to use slim fast. Am due to get banded on 12th August and have only been advised to follow very low fat diet for 2 weeks prior to op which I started 3 days ago. Have been having 2 slimfast shakes a day plus 1 slimfast Soup and lots of fruit. Advice much appreciated. I live in the UK, Thanks everhopeful x

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi EnglishRose, I am doing everything the same as you except just a day earlier! First consultation on the 11th and surgery on 12th. Am flying home to Southampton on the 14th. I think I have about 6 stone to lose but have beeen 'big' to varying degrees all my adult life so I have no concept of how it will feel or how I will look if I achieve this goal. Are you planning to follow a diet beforehand? I have read about a milk and bovril diet that private clinics in UK recommend for 2 weeks prior to op but sounds awful. |Think I may do slimfast for 2 weeks before. It would definately be good to keep in touch for support and advice. Good luck, everhopeful x

Hi English, Bit late to respond, I know but I am a technophobe and unsure how these machines work! I am being banded by dr cdb the day before you and staying in same hotel! So, if you see a 30 year old fat lady wandering about with her mother come and say hello. Wish you luck and would love to hear how you get on. Where areyou travelling from? Good Luck, everhopeful x
