  1. I, too, have decided to take the lap band plunge and this is my first post. My appointments have all been scheduled and should coincide with my insurance approval. I hope to be scheduled for surgery in early September. I cannot believe I'm actually doing something for myself for a change. I'm so looking forward to this. I'm at an age now where I don't want to be gorgeous, don't want to be "svelt", just want to be healthy and play with the grandchildren without looking stupid. It took me six tries to get onto a float in the pool last week. The boys thought Nanny was pretty funny and, now that I look back on it, I guess maybe it was. I probably could've won $10,000 on America's Funniest Home Video's. Luckily, the pool water hid my tears. I can't remember when I've looked forward to so many doctors visits but it'll be well worth it for me to have my healthy me back again. Would like to hear from others my age with tips and pointers, do's and don'ts.
