Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Congratulations!! The day will come sooner than you think. I had surgery May 16th and have lost 34 lbs. I'm starting to hit the mini-plateaus and when I stay EXACTLY, to the tenth of a pound, the same for 4-5 days, well I get a little cranky but then all of a sudden....5 lbs just melt away. Best of luck with your surgery.

Hello out there. I am new to the blog world and learning. I had lapband surgery May 16th. Pre-surgery weight was 240 lbs, Surgery day weight was 230 and I just hit 211 today. I feel great!! I looking forward to my first fill on July 7th. I really have no restriction now and hope to feel a difference after the fill. I have enjoyed reading this blog for a couple of months now so decided to jump in. My first question is......how do you get the ticker added to the bottom of your posts?

This is funny. I have three Airedale girls; Holly 5yrs & 85 lbs, Maggie 6 yrs and 65 lbs, and Teeny Tiny Teri who is 12 yrs and only 50 lbs because she has unoperable cancer and is sliding downward. Isn't Maggie the perfect name for an Airedale? My husband and I can't imagine life without the dales.

    Surgery June 30! I'm Nervous!

Everyone has the same worries right before surgery. The fear is much worse than the reality. Well, actually, the pre-surgery prep is not too much fun either. Just remember to follow your Dr.'s orders to a tee. When you are being pestered to get up and walk, just remember walking is the best thing you can do. I was worried about getting the shoulder pain from the gas but that didn't happen. The best thing about when you follow your dietary instructions is you WILL lose weight quickly in the beginning. That is the best part of the experience. Of course, it slows down, plateaus and gets harder later but in the beginning....it is GREAT!!

I will be watching the site for a report on how your fill goes. I am anxious to get that "full" feeling because I think that any day now the self-control is going to fail. I'm also a little unsure about what to expect at the fill. Is it easy, does it feel uncomfortable, will I feel naseated or whatever........you get the idea. Good luck on Monday!
  6. I am also looking forward to my first fill, July 7th. I hope to feel more restriction after that. I have had no problem eating just about anything, good and not so good. I will be looking for your follow-up after your fill. Linda

    Very Afraid!!!!

I had my surgery six weeks ago and I feel like I have had this tool for ages. I am scheduled for my first fill on July 7th and I am sure it will be much different after that because there will be more restriction. For me, the worst part was the two days before surgery (prepping is not a fun experience), waiting to go into surgery (late afternoon so a long wait), and the first time getting out of bed at the hospital was dicey. After that, it has been all downhill. I hit a plateau after losing 23 lbs but that has broken and now I am down another 6 lbs. I already look and more importantly feel better. I finally believe that I can lose the weight and keep it off for the rest of my life and that is a great feeling!
