I finally got scheduled for my bypass on September 8th! (4 days after my 36th birthday!) So nice to finally have a date but not it has set in that it is REAL!

Has anyone tried the multivitamin patches they have now? I'm researching which vitamins to take after surgery and came across the patches, I've never heard of them before. Also, I'm having a very hard time finding a multi vitamin that has all the required stuff in it. How many vitamins does it usually take to get everything needed?

Hi! I had my first visit with the nutritionist yesterday and I will need to lose 20 lbs pre surgery. I'm really nervous and worried that I won't be able to do this. Does the 2 weeks of liquids before surgery help with a lot of that weight? I'm going to try as hard as I can but if it were easy I wouldn't need the surgery! Just makes me scared it might not work out. Did anyone else feel this way?

I had my first visit today to begin my journey! I am lucky that I live in Cleveland and have lots of access to the Cleveland Clinic. My surgeon was great, very nice - thorough, answered all my questions and after learning about my history and concerns, we decided that the bypass was the best option for me. I was surprised as I went into it convinced that I wanted the sleeve but he obviously had much more knowledge than I do. Now I meet with the nutritionist and psychologist next week! He said to expect surgery around July/August!

My insurance requires 4 months of nutrition too. Are they requiring you to lose a specific amount of weight before surgery? I was thinking the sleeve as well as I already have iron deficiency and take anxiety med.

Hi All! I am just beginning the process of Weight Loss Surgery. I am going through the Cleveland Clinic and I have my first appointment with the surgeon on Tuesday and then after that I have appointments set with the nutritionist, Psychology and Bariatric MD. I guess I just don't know what to expect with the first visit, Due to Covid they are all virtual visits So I won't have an exam or anything. Is it just information or will we decide which procedure would be best for me? Has anyone here had their surgery at Cleveland Clinic? I'm nervous but very excited to get started.
