  1. Hi: I was banded July 23 by Robert Quaid at the Harmony Surgery Center in Fort Collins, Colorado. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Quaid or the Surgery Center! The surgery was incredibly easy: I was in the OR from about 11:30am until about 12:30pm; finally roused myself from the anesthesia about 5:30pm; and was walking the halls that same evening. I've had very little discomfort (no pain) and the only problem really was that the pain meds prescribed that I took once I got home made me sick to my stomach. I'm not even taking Tylenol now. The surgery center was wonderful: one nurse per patient and only five rooms: the staff was very attentive and supportive -- all the nurses signed a get well card that they gave me when I left! I would very highly recommend Dr. Quaid and the Harmony Surgical Center. Two things surprised me: I was very hungry after the surgery! And the hunger lasted until today (day four after surgery) when I started eating baby cereal and yogurt. The other surprise was that I came home weighing two pounds MORE than when I went into surgery! I know it's due to all the IV fluids etc but still....! Please don't worry about your upcoming bandings; I hope you all have as easy a time as I have. Best luck to everyone!
  2. Hi Gail: That would be great - thanks for asking! Will your surgery be in Vancouver? That's a pretty part of the world; my mother-in-law lived just outside Seattle for many years. What date is your banding? Ellie's mom
  3. My banding will be July 23. Only have the nutritional and pre-op appointments left. Ellie's mom
  4. Thanks, SS! Congratulations on your weight loss -- you're an inspiration. My dr said that because I have "so little to lose" (90 pounds is a little?!) to expect only about a three pound a month weight loss. I was a little disappointed but three pounds is three pounds -- hopefully my loss will be more like yours. Keep up the good work! Ellie's mom
  5. Hi! I am so glad to have found this list! I am a few weeks away from banding (July 23). I'm 53 years old, 5'3" and 206 pounds, a self-employed mother of one, and vegetarian. My main excercise is "aerobic knitting" (which hasn't helped get the weight off at all!). I'm looking forward to learning from all your experiences. Ellie's mom
