C-PAP Machine for Apnea following Sleeve Surgery
Hi All, Anyone using a C-Pap following your sleeve surgery? I assume it is safe and my doctor said okay to resume use I am 6 days Post-Op. I have read a lot of conflicting intel on the web about using after surgery. My doctor specifically said that long ago the medical community felt it may be unsafe and cause leaks but he says he never recommends discontinuing until you can do so naturally. My doctors diet post-op for the first 5 weeks is a bit extreme compared to others on liquid diet only. I figured maybe everyone's surgeons have a different take on the C-PAP as well. Would love to hear from you on the matter if you would not mind sharing. Thanks

Length of Hospital Stay Following Procedure
My doctor wants me to remain on liquid for 5 weeks. Wish I could have soupy mashed potatoes though but that sounds like a ways off for me. I have learned that all surgery centers are not the same for sure as far as their plan to go back to regulated diet. I did wake up this morning feeling yucky. Not sure how to describe it. I think it is a bit of my anxiety or ketosis like your saying. Just feeling weak and sweaty but then thought maybe my blood sugar so I just ordered a test kit. This will determine if I need to go back on my Metformin at a reduced MG per day. Due to my lower GI being a little on the stubborn side since surgery, I did talk to my surgeon this morning and he said to go ahead and blend in some fruits and vegetables to my protein drinks. No doubt that will help with the overall strength coming back online. Planning on walking on the treadmill at some point today as I am getting around pretty well at this point so the sooner the better my doctor says. I went off the pain meds yesterday at 9PM and have not taken since. Not a big fan of pain meds but when you need them - thank goodness we have them! You don't happen to use a C-PAP machine?

Length of Hospital Stay Following Procedure
Hi Rosie - how are you doing? I ended up staying for 3 days, 2 of those in ICU. I feel much better and have been home since Saturday. A little nausea that caused me to semi vomit but they stayed on top of me with nasusea medication. Biggest challenge was the pain due to all the air they had filled my cavity with. Was not expelling as quickly as they had hoped. Drinking my Ensure Protein shakes twice a day (takes forever) to get through one of them - lol. Looking forward to trying some high protein chicken broth this evening. Slowly getting back to work today as well - worked about half the day. How about you - did you experience nausea and how long did you end up staying, etc.?

Length of Hospital Stay Following Procedure
I am having my Sleeve surgery tomorrow and wanted to know what the length of your hospital stay was following surgery? I was told by the Surgical Nurse that called me today that some people go home the same day. The Medical doctor that did my clearance two weeks ago stated one night and my surgeon said one to two nights. Obviously its based on any complications that may arise but just curious if you don't mind sharing. Thank you!

Sleeve Surgery
I am going back and forth because I used to work out and eat right. I lost my way and now am a mess. Really looking to hearing about the experience from start to where you are now specific to the sleeve. Did you have a hard time getting back up and moving after surgery. Were you having vomiting issues, any leaks or a need to have additional surgeries? My doctor wants me on a pure liquid diet for 5 weeks. Nothing but protein drinks and pureed soups at most. That part I can deal with I am just worried about some of the negatives I have read about on other sites such as chronic nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Any one had to deal with Gallstone issues following surgeries? Scarring that caused blockage and needed a revision? Sounds like these things could pop up over the long term including ulcers so wondering if anyone has had these experiences. What about food intolerance? Big Italian family who drink wine and do Sunday dinners at least twice a month. I am good with the moderation completely just concerned that I wont be able to tolerate anything normal in the future. I am second guessing my decision but know I should probably not be. I have lost 12lbs on the pre-op diet and have been optimistic until now. Think I am allowing paranoia to take me over:( Words of wisdom and any stories you wish to share on what you experienced over a period of time would be most welcome. Thanks for listening

Any Regrets
I am scheduled to have my surgery on Weds and have already lost 12lbs since the 18th of March adhering to the pre-op diet. Does anyone have any major regrets about the surgery?
