vsgGretla reacted to Creekimp13 in Lots of questionsThat is not, to the best of my knowledge, a routine thing they test for. No way of knowing for sure, though! I know they do test for nicotine, so maybe?
If I were you, I'd quit ASAP. Take a big long break. Get through your surgery and recovery before you re-evaluate using it. If you don't quit at least a few weeks before surgery....fess up and tell your team. It's important information that they should have for your safety.
Also....there is strong evidence that using cannabis under 25 years of age is less safe, due to possible negative effects while your brain is growing. Google....."smoking pot under 25". Not lecturing, just trying to bring awareness to something many people don't know about.
Good luck with your surgery! Stay safe, and let us know how it goes.

vsgGretla reacted to Creekimp13 in True loss of restriction feeling? It doesn't go away. Once most of your stomach is cut out, most of your stomach is cut out. It doesn't grow back. There's a little stretch as time goes on, but nothing remarkable...in spite of the hype.
And yes, you can eat yourself fat on a tiny altered stomach if you're dedicated enough. People do it every day.
Please see a bariatric therapist. It will help you sort your feelings out and feel better.
Wishing you the best.

vsgGretla reacted to The Greater Fool in Taking bigger sips without pain?I have a special name for this phenomenon: Healing.
The swelling is going down making things less sensitive. You're having less pain because you've been careful to take small sips.
Keep doing what you are doing.
Good job!

vsgGretla reacted to blackcatsandbaddecisions in Substance use after WLSMost of us ending up with wls have an eating addiction, and likely an addictive personality in many areas. Transfer addiction is real. Watch out for anything in your life that your brain is trying to use to cope (drinking, drugs, shopping, gambling) because new things can crop up once you take away food. -
vsgGretla reacted to moonbean85 in Substance use after WLSOh man. This is so what I want to avoid. I posted earlier about how easy it would be to pick up my old self destructive habits. Mainly any of the ones that make you not feel hungry anymore. I havent tried it but the temptation is real. I wouldn't try it because it could turn into a coping mechanism instead of a weekend party time thing and then it's never any fun again as you forget how to function and digest food normally without it. Your tolerance is going to be super super low and just a fraction of what you used to do could possibly be fatal. The risks just dont seem worth it. Be careful with whatever you choose to do or not do.

vsgGretla reacted to xoto2000 in Substance use after WLSSo I have an incredibly controversial and rather personal question for the lovely people of BariatricPal. I’ll be upfront, I’m a 20 year old guy in college so pre-op I was a party animal. My question doesn’t relate to alcohol but to illicit-drug use.. I understand this is a super touchy subject but is there anyone that would be willing to share how they get felt or reacted to the use of illicit drugs (molly, snow, bars etc.) -
vsgGretla reacted to Hopefulin2021 in Not hungry but I want to eat!!I’m a week out post op and even though I haven’t felt hunger I want to chew something and it’s killing me!! This is so much harder than I thought I just want to chew. I’m not going to do anything stupid but just venting helps.
